Funny thing is. Whenever I picture Bella I picture you, I guess that's why I felt so attached to her and felt her pain. You are ok aren't you? :friends0:

:friends0:Awwwwwwwwww CHARM!!! I'm so glad you've liked these books so far!

Addictive is definitely what these books are, and YAYAYAYAY for Team Edward! :friends0:

I zoomed through the first three books but made myself go very slow with BD. You might want to do that too so you're not such an emotional wreck afterwards, LOL.

Woohoo! Another convert :friends0:

Welcome to the club, Charm. Agree with everything about the writing, and I think everyone's right about the addiction aspect ... I've always said they're intoxicating!

I now almost want to read Twilight, just to be the only person who doesn't get addicted!

I didn't get addicted either... I have yet to read Breaking Dawn. It's been on my desk for months! :friends0:

I am the same about Twilight, but very stubborn so refuse to read Breaking Dawn, I keep telling myself it's a waste of money which I could be spending on much better books

But secretly I still want to read it...

I thought you'd be pleased :D How could I not like them? I wouldn't do that to you now would I? ;)

I think I may have to slow down and maybe take a break before Breaking Dawn, on the other hand I think I might just continue on and satisfy my Twilight appetite so as not to feel so unsatiated, which I probably would in this series, if I were to finish it later having no more books to turn to. Make sense?

Now stop crying or you'll start me off too! :irked::friends0:

They're like a drug, totally interfering with your life, very disconcerting

Not a good idea, I totally thought, me as a sensible wife and mother, a grown-up for heavens sake, could not be affected. Trust me, leave well alone.

 Have you finished New Moon? Eclipse is my second favourite of the series so enjoy reading :D

Yes I finished it yesterday. I'm half way through Eclipse now, I just came up for air! :friends0:

Did you post your thoughts on New Moon yet, Charm? I'm interested to see them, obviously :friends0:. I pretty much liked the books in the order they were written. At least you know that once you do finish BD, be it now or later on down the road, you can re-read the series all over again!

Oh! And then there's Midnight Sun :D.

New Moon ~by~ Stephenie Meyer

Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones:

I stuck my finger under the edge of the paper and jerked it under the tape. 'Shoot,' I muttered when the paper sliced my finger. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut. It all happened very quickly then. 'No!' Edward roared ...Dazed and disorientated, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm - and into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires. For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of an evil vampire but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realise their troubles may just be beginning ...

My thoughts:

Its very hard to describe what happens in this book with out giving too much away so there will probably be a lot of spoilers here :friends0:

After Bella's paper cut incident, Edward decides its better for her if he never sees her again so he leaves, telling her he doesn't want her anymore

This was one of the most painful books I've ever read. (Why the hell didn't anybody warn me???) The author's style of writing is still the same as Twilight, still not great, and yet I could almost feel Bella's pain. It follows her struggles as she comes to terms with what happens and has another pretty predictable storyline thrown in for one of her best friends. A misunderstanding proves to be exactly what she needs in the end to regain her ability to love.

There was a lot more action in this book than the first one, so that made it a bit more enjoyable for me although it was like stepping on an emotional roller coaster ride too, which left me rather mentally exhausted after finishing it! I do understand why it rarely comes out top of the list of people's favourites from of the series

it really was heartbreaking, hard to read.

(Now I remember why I stay away from chicklit and sad stories :D) Obviously, because there are two more books, we know her story carries on and I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes. These books have an uncanny way of hooking you in, you just want more!

8/10

Excuse me, WHAT IS MIDNIGHT SUN??? :D

Midnight Sun is Twilight from Edward's point of view - not published but you can read the first few chapters on Stephenie Meyer's website :friends0:

Great revew, Charm!! I wholeheartedly agree about the writing, but somehow it was addicting just the same. I will not say I didn't get pretty teary (okay I was sobbing)

when Edward left Bella in the forest. But for me, I liked the bits when they were apart because it made her hearing his voice in her head and their reunion at the end that much sweeter!

I must be a sadist or something .

MS is an unfinished novel that Meyer wrote. Same book as Twilight but completely from Edwards POV. Interesting if you need more of a sparkly fix :friends0:.

Oh dear God... I don't think I could take it, I'm a wreck! I'd better keep this in mind in case of emergencies only. :friends0:

I actually prefer Midnight Sun to Twilight! I'm annoyed that someone she gave a copy of the manuscript to leaked it on the internet - this is why publication has been delayed indefinitely :friends0:

I do see what you mean about the end, it was pretty good :friends0: I did find myself taking a peek at the last pages too, just for reassurance you know :D
