lexiepiper Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 The Spirit Ahh my BF really wants to see this, he loves Sin City Quote
Nollaig Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I was wondering about the Spirit - my brother compared it to Sin City but he didn't like Sin City so I dunno what to think... Also the new Underworld movie... rise of the lycans? or something? Looks quite good. Saw it advertised at the Twilight Premiere. Quote
lexiepiper Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Ohh! I love Underworld and will definately want to watch Rise of the Lycans I do believe The Spirit is done in the same style as Sin City, as in all black and white with splashes of red here and there. Not sure what the storyline is though Quote
Weave Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Frank Miller made 'Sin City', '300' and 'The Spirit', he has a very singular style, films you recognise because of the red and the black I am looking forward to also seeing 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' Quote
Charm Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Also the new Underworld movie... rise of the lycans? or something? Looks quite good. Saw it advertised at the Twilight Premiere. We have both the Underworld movies on DVD. I loved them! Can't wait to see this too Quote
Nollaig Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 They're very good movies! I'm not a fan of werewolves but somehow the age old war between vampires and werewolves always interests me! Quote
Charm Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Me too. I absolutely loved Van Helsing as well with Hugh Jackman Quote
lexiepiper Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Me too. I absolutely loved Van Helsing as well with Hugh Jackman Yeah, that's a great film, in fact I might watch it now! Quote
Janet Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Indeed. This is the movie poster, which is now also a book cover. And normally I don't like book covers taken from movies, but I actually think this one is superb. Pajamas?! Quote
lexiepiper Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Pajamas?! There seems to be 2 different spellings, some have Pajamas and other Pyjamas, my book has the Pyjamas spelling, but any amazon have it listed as Pajamas, I'm guessing that's a difference between UK and American english? Quote
jewell Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I really want to see Australia. I have a lot of family over there and i would love to know more about it's history. Quote

Peacefield Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I'm very behind on the movie front! Here in the states I saw that 'The Dutchess' and 'Burn After Reading' are already out on DVD, so hopefully soon I'll be able to rent them. I would also love to see 'Frost/Nixon,' 'In Bruges,' 'Iron Man,' 'The Reader,' and 'Rockinrolla.' (sp?) As far as new movies, I would love to see 'Benjamin Button,' 'Milk' and 'Doubt.' David Fincher is a favorite of mine, as is Philip Seymour Hoffman. I'm sure I'll think of other movies that I want to see after I post this, lol. Quote
Suzanne123 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I really wanna see The Reader! If I cant see Australia next Tuesday, i'll hopefully see that instead Quote

rach.at.the.disco Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I like the look of The Reader - although I think I'll end up waiting for it to come out on dvd because no-one else seems to like the films I do and I don't want to go on my own. Quote
Suzanne123 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I saw The Reader! It was FANTASTIC! Superub story and a wonderful cast everyone go and see it! Quote

ChrisJ Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I didn`t know they were making this into a film, hope it`s as good as the book. Yes, out this year. Seen a bit of a trailer so should be quite soon. I enjoyed this book more than the Da Vinci Code. Quote
