Claire Consterdine Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I read whenever I can - mostly in bed at night but also when having a nice long hot bath though holding up a hard back book can make your arms ache! I also read when my husband has some sort of sports on the television - though he does insist on giving me a commentry I dont want to hear and then gets annoyed when I dont respond cos I am so engrossed in the book! Bella Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I've only recently been able to claw some time & energy back for reading so my book goes wherever I do! I manage a few pages whilst the kiddies have breakfast...a page on the loo sometimes.... I love reading in the bath and always in the evenings/bedtime now. I get an extra chapter a night in at kiddies bedtime too as we're reading 'real books' as my son calls them rather than short stories, so it's not my book as such but I do get to read Quote
Nici Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I have started reading for around a hour when I get home from work (as well as bedtime). I have 'mums corner' in my bedroom with candles and photos and a lovely wicker chair and I find it really relaxing to sit there and read. Quote
bookwormmum Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Usually on the bus back & forth to work and on my lunch break. I sometime read at night if I'm not too tired or late and if my son is having some TV time and I don't fancy watching cartoon. I think it's important that he sees me reading. Quote
Horrorfan Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I read most at night, sometimes in the garden when the weather is good, but nights is best, because it's also quiet and peaceful. Quote
pastelpanda Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I prefer too read outside, except that never seems to happen.so I like to read by the window in my house 1:00-3:00ish:/ Quote
Kylie Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I get too distracted reading outside. I just went and ate lunch by the harbour and then read some of my book but I got worried about all the birds flying around me and over me (you can imagine why!) so I cut it short . Quote
pastelpanda Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 haha! yeah, birds the unabomber! but it's not bombs that are falling. And yes that does tend to give me a scare as well. Quote
Icecream Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I prefer too read outside, except that never seems to happen.so I like to read by the window in my house 1:00-3:00ish:/ I love reading outside but whenever I take the girls to the park I have too much to do, changing nappies, feeding the baby, playing with Katie, eating lunch. Fluffyblue Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I get up at 5.00 am and do about an hour on my exercise bike, whilst reading a book. Sometimes, and if it's a particularly good book, I can just keep going for about 100 mins. It's good exercise and good reading time! I also read at lunchtime at work, and when I go to bed at night. I also read in the car (but only if my husband is driving obviously!) I'm pretty proud of myself because during September I managed to read 9 books which for me is A LOT. Quote
~Andrea~ Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I read for 30 mins every night (pretty much) before bed and occasional Saturday/Sunday mornings before OH gets up. I also quite often read for 20 mins in my lunch-hour - so there's usually two books on the go, the bedtime/weekend book and the work-lunchtime book. Quote
technohead Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Just started reading properly and enjoying it! Manybe a short spell when I get in from workm, and before bed every night, and at weekends Quote

~Andrea~ Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Nah I know lots of people with bookshelves in their loos. It's pretty common. Seems some people are easily shocked Quote
pipread Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I know a few people with a shelf of books in the toilet as well, I don`t because I`ve got a loo the size of a matchbox! Quote
Raven Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I`ve got a loo the size of a matchbox! Too. Many. Jokes. Gah! I tend to read late at night, when the traffic outside my flat has died down and everything is quiet. Quote
Jetpack Comics Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Any time I hit the bathroom! And before bed. haha. Quote
Nici Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Every time I try to read at the moment I fall asleep - no matter what time of the day. Quote
bev Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Perhaps you should try reading something more exciting Nici. Or get more rest !! You've been under a lot of stress this year, maybe your body is trying to tell you to chill out ! Quote
Nici Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Well I'm reading a good book so that can't be it! So yes you are probably right, I need some rest! Quote
Stephanie2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I love reading at night but have a problem with falling asleep. In my head I'm not tired (especially if I'm reading a really good book) but my eyes just please themselves. So now I try to read on the bus going to and from uni. But I have a tendency to get travel sick. I just think my body doesn't like me reading Quote

Now I try to read when I get in from work and early evenings, seems to work. Quote
