Bambi-eyes Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hi everyone! I've just come across this site and am looking forward to being a part of the forum. I've recenlty been signed off work for 2 weeks and have to stay off my feet so I'm sure I'll be about quite a bit over the next fortnight! Quote
Nici Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hello and Bambi-eyes! What sort of books do you enjoy? Quote
Bambi-eyes Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 Thank you both for the kind welcome! I enjoy most novels, I've just finished my Ma in English which has opened my eyes to many different novelists and subjects. I love South African writer JM Coetzee and Charles Dickens right through to Toni Morrison and Doris Lessing. I can't get enough of my books and when I find a good one I really dig my heels in and am disappointed when it ends! Quote
Michelle Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Ooh.. I do like this steady influx of new members. We love having new people to talk to about books. I like Canterbury, and must get back down there for a visit. I'm up in Dartford. Can I be nosey, and ask why you need to stay off your feet.. what did you do to yourself?! Quote
Bambi-eyes Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 I've got celulitis ~ it's a soft tissue infection in my foot and the pain is unbearable!! My foot's absolutely enormous and I'm on antibiotics and painkillers, so feeling a bit sorry for myself ! But I this is cheering me up and it beats work!! Quote
Kell Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Ouch! That sounds painful! But, if it led to you being here, I suppose some good has come of it in a round-about kind of way! to the forum, Bambi-eyes. I look forward to discussing your favourite books and authors with you. Quote
Michelle Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Yep, cellulitis isn't very nice! Glad you've found our little home to spend some time in! Quote
Echo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry you're off your feet and in pain. I'm happy to see another English major here! Although my major isn't technically English (it's Humanities), it is my primary concentration. I think you're definitely going to fit right in! Quote
