I've read 50 on the list but I must admit there are quite a few that I don't really fancy i.e. the Jacquline Wilson novels. There are some greats that I do hope to read sooner rather than later though, like Les Mis

I bought this last week for my upcoming stay in hospital. I can't wait to read it as I love Ian Mcewan. It's really hard not to look at the spoilers, but resist I shall!

That sounds like quite a task! Are you studying the literature or time period in particular or is it just a hobby?

I loved the Rats trilogy, I was absolutely terrified by it. Also, Carrie was good but as I got older I got more and more terrified of scarey movies, which has put a block on any modern horror novels. I love Frankenstein, Dracula and Handmaids Tale (not technically a horror novel, but it freaked me out!)...Margaret Atwood certainly puts her own spin on horror, which is chilling in a unique way.

I think it's good to get a general gist of the genre of the book but I like the blurb to be a little ambiguous ~ I hate reading a book that pretty much has the synopsis on the cover!

I keep a pile on my bedside cabinet, some on the lounge coffee table and our academic books are on the shelves in the dining room. I have quite a large cupboard under my stairs where I house the tumble drier and most of my books. Unfortunately it's getting to the point where I'm running out of storage space and am having to box them up and store them in the loft. I hate that I can't look at them, knowing they're up there! My husband despairs when he has to hoist another load up there!

For me it has to be the current trend of 'misery-lit' books, I just cant stand them. All my friends at work circulate them between themselves and I shocked that I don't want in on the action...absolutely no. Also, I feel the same about celeb bios ~ I saw Lewis Hamilton has one out, he can't be more than 22! What's the rush?!

I've never actually listed the books that I've read, but I have just ordered a nice new book to keep as my Book Journal. I'm going to start from now so here are the books I've read so far this month and then I'll update it that way! I've not read half as much as I did when I was at Uni but I do have the time now to enjoy them rather than swallowing 4 or 5 a week, so I'm hoping for a slow but satisfying list!
