Virginia Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Bloody, freaking COLD. We're looking at below freezing by tomorrow night. Seems like every time I check my weather app the temps drop another 3 degrees. All errands have been done and I've got the older kids at the park to enjoy the last days of thong weather "49 degrees." Tomorrow night drops down to 17 degrees. Edited January 6, 2015 by Virginia Quote
Peacefield Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I'm I'm MN and this is pretty typical, but I still hate it! Quote
chesilbeach Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 It's calmed down and is just a bit chilly this evening, but this morning, I left the house in a hailstorm to find my car had collected a few inches of hail piled up the windscreen. The half hour drive to work (normally twenty minutes but drove much slower due to …) consisted of hail, heavy rain, sleet, snow, sleet and finally heavy rain again by the time I got out of the car at the other end! Nollaig Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Red warning for the west coast of Ireland tonight, winds of up to 150 kph. We've been feeling it all day, I haven't eaten but I'm not going to the shop in that wind and rain, it's been crazy. Quote
AbielleRose Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Fargo is finally pulling out of the negative digits and -30+ wind chills today. We're supposed to get up to 25f which, believe it or not, is a very welcomed "heat wave!" Quote
Weave Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 We are getting heavy winds at the moment, everyone is walking around looking wind~swept and interesting Quote
Athena Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 It's been pretty stormy here the past few days. Sometimes it rains too. Not the best weather! Apparently it will get colder soon, too. Brrr.. Quote
AbielleRose Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Its 30, sunny and lovely here today! Think I may go out for a walk later on. Quote
pontalba Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I was about to post and complain about our very chilly, to cold and gray damp weather. I have no complaints now!!!!! Quote

You're from the south, though! Anything under 50 is cold to you guys! My grandma lives in Phoenix and had her heat on the other day when it was 60. Quote

Nope, ah'm not complaining! Quote
poppyshake Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Freezing cold, wet and windy! All the things nobody wants Quote
itsmeagain Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Cold yet quite sunny. Snow hasn't materialised as forecast. Quote
Kylie Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 After lots of hot weather, we've had a wonderfully cool and drizzly day today. Quote
Athena Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I found it hard to believe but we had some snow this morning! It didn't stay on the ground (gladly because that means it's warmer ), but it was snowing for a little while. It's cold outside. On Saturday we had some beautifully Sunny, but cold weather. The rest of the days it's mainly been cloudy, stormy and rainy. And then some snow. Quote
Virginia Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 No snow here. The sun is shining and we're hitting the 60'f mark today. By the middle of the week we may hit 70. We're going to toss the kids outside, whether they want to go out or not! Quote
Talisman Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 We had a few flecks of snow this morning, but it didn't settle. At 9am the temperature was minus 3 which was colder than Reykjavik. Quote
chesilbeach Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Just above freezing here, but dry and the sun has been shining most of the day but the water in the water butt in the garden has frozen over, about half an inch thick! Quote
Talisman Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The fish bond at work did the same - I had to break through the ice with the aid of a mop handle, to make sure the fish were alright. Quote
poppyshake Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 It's cold .. had some snow at the weekend but it didn't settle for long. Bit icy still in places. Wrapping up warm weather as you would expect for January in the UK. Quote
dtrpath27 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Chilly and rainy. It's 58 right now, but the temperature is supposed to continue dropping. Quote
Athena Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Yesterday it snowed and the past few days we've had pretty cold temperatures. Some of the snow melted yesterday afternoon, some of it is still there today. Temperatures are below freezing temperature (0 C) because the snow is not melting. It does however give some very pretty pictures (taken yesterday): The weatherpeople predict it will be slightly above 0 C tomorrow, and expect more rain and wind later this week. Quote
Kylie Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Wow, Gaia, they're such beautiful pictures! What stunning scenery. Quote
