Yesterday I bought the book of David Attenborough's Africa series from Tesco for £9 (instead of the RRP £25) so I shall be reading that soon! I got The Farm by Emily McKay, The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson and The First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Of course, I won't be properly starting these until I've finished A Memory of Light. But may dip into them as I take my Kobo to school to read there as my book is too big for my bag. Timstar Posted January 28, 2013 Share Posted January 28, 2013 Finished The Fort by Bernard Cornwell, unlike his usual style of following one person or a group from the one side of the regular army, here he follows the generals, majors and colonels from both sides. This meant he had to be much more historically accurate, which is always good, but did mean the characterisation suffered a little as he couldn't take the same liberties as with his fictional characters in a non-fictional setting. It was refreshing to see a completely unbiased depiction of an important but not very well known siege. I didn't know who was going to win until the very end. I have the first one which I found when browsing the free ebooks section and so far it has actually be quite good.
