  1. Great review Michelle, I'm looking forward to this being one of my first reads of 2013!
  2. Thanks Kell, I'll have to google it as the only music shop I know near here doesn't do them, a friend of a friend got hers from Oxfordshire but that's a bit of a trek!
  3. Ah I can see it now, at first glance I thought she was short coated but I can see the ruff now.. We do have a lady a couple of roads away that has one of the Finnish breeds but she speaks so little english and her male dog is even grumpier than Obi that we've never got closer than 30 metres! I'll keep a look out for the film, in case they ever do it with subtitles, my Finnish isn't too good
  4. The last episode of True Blood season 5 .... It's been a good one!!
  5. Is that a Norwegian Buhund frankie? They're pretty rare over here, even more so than the Cattle Dog..
  6. Thanks Brian, that website looks really good, I'll have a proper look tomorrow :)
  7. Ok, a random title I know, but I was thinking of maybe getting Steve a Ukelele for Christmas, or a banjo, as he has mentioned in the past that he would like to try and play one. The only problem is that I have no idea where to start! He isn't particularly musical and has a poor memory for things like learning music so would need to be the simplest option, but I'm hoping it may help him while away the hours when he is away from home I'm kind of hoping one of you may be an age old Bango or Ukelele player who can offer some advice before I head into the abyss that is Google! :)
  8. I think my Obi may have made a good sniffer dog, he's always finding things... His best find came when he wouldn't stop sniffing around Honey's head, I eventually found a tiny tiny spot there, got it checked at the Vets and she was found to have a mast cell tumour, which are very hard to find as they are not typical tumours, they have threads rather than masses under the skin, she was operated on that week and we still have her now, five years later, and she will be 15 on 1st January, thank you Obi.
  9. I finished Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched The World, it rambled a little too much about the town particularly in the first half of the book but the last third was lovely and I stayed up late last night to finish it! Going to start Bitten by Kelley Armstrong, a copy that I was given by Chrissy over a year ago!!
  10. An Invisible Sign with Jesdica Alba - brilliant.
  11. I'm getting a kobo for Christmas, I have no idea what colour though, it's in the hands of my husband, I'm just hoping its not the pink one! A review would be great Andrea, with lots of hints and tips please! :)
  12. Some fantastic categories there Julie, you have one heck of an imagination!
  13. A Land of Decoration was a brilliantly written book, and a beautiful cover too which is always a bonus.
  14. Oh you've got to try The Muppets Janet, what have you got to lose?! It's A Wonderful Life is on every Christmas, a definite must see and always at the top of the favourite Christmas movie lists.
  15. I'm in the (very small) minority that preferred HFS to TTTW, left me feeling very disturbed, always a great achievement for a book I think. Excellent book, I keep meaning to read up more about the woman who was the subject of the book as I understand she has written it from her perspective since?
  16. The only Christmas Carol I have enjoyed is the Muppet one!!! But then I grew up with the Muppets ..(not literally of course, my Dad would've been furious if there was a green frog sitting halfway up the stairs all the time.. My Mum loves the Alastair Sim version but I'm not a fan of black and white movies unless it's A Wonderful Life.
  17. This has been on my wish list for a long while now, I really must get through my TBR pile as quick as I can so I can buy it!!
  18. We took 25 Brownies (the girls not the chocolate cakes ) to watch Scrooge at the cinema, it was a little dark for some of them, I had 2 girls on my lap for most of the duration and one Mum had to take her child home, in fact only a few actually enjoyed it all, so whilst animation it could really be more a film for adults..
  19. Wake (with Ian Somerhalder, without fangs ) - very good.
  20. I have adjusted my wish list accordingly! Thanks Janet..
  21. I looked earlier and noticed that too.. Any ideas frankie? Not that I'm going to buy it yet of course..............
  22. Dear Frankie, lovely indie film..
  23. Despite being a cat owner I'm certainly no expert and I'm very lucky that Candy is very good at amusing herself, which can sometimes be painful for us! . But have you tried the food toys/balls? You fill them with dry food and the cat has to figure out how to get it out, it can take a while..
  24. Oh Julie, that doesn't sound good.. I don't really understand how it works over there with insurance, can you change insurance companies or do they all have the same rules re the same drugs, are there no cheaper drugs your Dr can prescribe that are more cost effective and yet still effective? Sending you hugs {{hugs}} (sorry I'm on my phone and I can never remember the blessed emoticons!) and hope your knee doesn't need such serious surgery x
  25. I don't have it yet!!
