    Book News!

I would recommend Divergent too, the third in the trilogy is being released later this year so not too long to wait if she enjoys the first two.. I thoroughly enjoyed the first books, as did my teenage son and now my 11 year old daughter is reading them and also enjoying them. Your son did brilliantly, one of my sons friends was diagnosed with dyslexia in Year 6 (now Year 9) and he gets all sorts of help and extra time in tests, so to achieve what he did without that help is fantastic..
  3. Nothing that interesting I'm afraid, I'm rather an animal lover so I just try not to eat anything with four legs,I do occasionally succumb to the odd piece of bacon or sausage though..
  4. Spaghetti and meatballs, minus the meatballs as I don't eat red meat!
  5. Lovely picture Pontalba.
  6. Glad to hear Reuben is on the mend BB, hope he's back to his own food soon!
  7. There's been three so far, think there's just one more to come this year.. Michelle has enjoyed them too.
  8. I'm looking forward to this one as I have enjoyed her Body Finder series so far.. Maybe I'll make it a near future Kobo download..
  9. Great news Noll!
  10. Home made pizza, chips and salad
  11. Oh bless him, I'll give Obi's bentley a good rub for luck for Reuben. Did the Vet recommend sponging him down with cool water, especially his feet? I remember having to do this with Dylan as a youngster when he developed a temp after being vaccinated, worked a treat!
  12. Well, I'm sure it'll be something easily sorted so try not to worry to much (easier said than done I know!) Please let us know how he gets on..
  13. Gave up with Between A Mother and Her Child, could tell it was going to be a no go, so have started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society which has been highly recommended on here..
  14. So sorry to hear about Shadow Abielle Rose, so sad when we lose our beloved pets Hope Rueben is feeling better soon BB, hopefully it's just a little bug he's picked up somewhere, he couldn't have swallowed something that can't pass through? Can often take 3 days for something to either go through or back up! Or does he chase/chew sticks? Could he have a bit of wood wedged in his teeth? Or could he have eaten something nasty? Is he going to the toilet ok?
  15. Finished The Dive From Clausen's Pier by Ann Packer which had been on my TBR shelf for well over a year, another excellent read... Started A Mother And Her Child by Elizabeth Noble.
  16. Maths is not my strong point (where's Chesil when she's needed) but I've just worked it out again, you're 173cm, divided by 2.5 is 69.2 inches, take off 60 inches (that's the 5 foot) that leaves me with 9.2 inches left over.. Maybe you just grew a little more?! . Does that make sense to anyone else?
  17. There's 2.5 cm in an inch frankie... So you're around 5 foot 7 and a half.. Us Brits (or older ones at least) tend to use imperial measurements for height too, I'm around 5 foot 4 and a half and Steve is 6 foot 1..
  18. Sorry, I can't agree, I only got a third or so of the way through and had to give up, the treatment of the wolves upset me and there were elements that really didn't sit well with my wolf knowledge..
  19. Hmmm, I haven't read the book but I have to admit ambivalence toward the film and I am a big George Clooney fan, I wasn't drawn to any of the characters and was quite glad when it ended.. A real shame as I had been looking forward to it for a long time.
  20. Spiderman 2...ok ish..
  21. So glad you liked it Diane, "Night Road" is definitely one to look out for now... I just finished Firefly Lane which is one of her older titles which I also enjoyed, her next book, coming out this year is a follow up to it.. Sadly most of her books are not available to buy over here as Night Road was her first book to be released here as part of the Richard and Judy book club.. I'm now reading The Dive From Clausen's Pier which has been on my TBR shelf for far too long!
  22. Roast dinner tonight as Steve will be flying back to work on Sunday and will miss out otherwise....
  23. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, brilliant!! Then Jack and Jill, kids enjoyed it!
  24. Hello and welcome.
  25. Finished Stolen by Kelley Armstrong which was a nice easy read, now onto Kristin Hannah's Firefly Lane..
