  1. The Good Life ~ Jace Everett
  2. I'm glad to hear Reuben is feeling better BB, keep us posted.. . How is Mabel doing now MM? Sadly Honey isn't doing so well now, we think she had a stroke/TIA of some kind this evening and she wet herself and couldn't stand up. . I called the vet and they said if we could get her settled to wait till morning and see how she is then.. I think this may have been what happened a few nights ago as there were a couple of puddles in the morning and she wasn't herself, so this could be a steady decline from now on. . I'm sleeping on the sofa tonight so I can hear if she tries to get up or is distressed, fortunately my parents are visiting so I can make an emergency run to the vets if need be.. I was taught the mantra 'better a week too soon than a day too late' a long time ago and have always promised my dogs I will not let them suffer and I intend to fulfil that promise if I need to..
  3. I've just ordered it from the library so should have it in a week or so.
  4. Oh your poor doggies, it so sad when they are feeling so poorly and they just don't understand why.. My old girl wasn't herself this morning and I was so worried that this was going to be the start of the end for her but fortunately she has rallied through the day. I know she can't have that much longer (she was 15 in January) but as they say in Les Mis, One day more! (Please..)
  5. Have started The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen, a YA read that has good reviews on Goodreads and was free to download.. the story is pretty good so far but the writing is a little iffy, a bit too much use of brackets for my liking but I'm trying to not let it irritate me!
  6. I've just heard that The Thread is our next book club read so I need to pick up a copy sometime soon..
  7. Just you and a spoon or did you spread it on something? Oatibix, flaxseeds and a pear for me this morning..
  8. You're in with a treat with The Island KM, brilliant book.. I didn't enjoy her second book though and have yet to try The Thread.
  9. Maybe Sookie from the True Blood novels, her life is never dull and she gets to 'spend time' with Eric Northman, gorgeous Viking vampire!!!
  10. The Midnight Palace was more of a YA read, much easier to read than The Shadow of the Wind but not quite as fulfilling I would say. I did enjoy it though ( a bit creepy, but then I'm easily creeped!) and gave it a 4/5..
  11. Jacket potatoes with tuna and avocado salad.
  12. Interesting, peaches in a stirfry? How does that work?
  13. I'm sure it's just a reaction, in can take a few days to get them back to normal..just keep an eye on his stitches and watch for any swelling.. Hope he's better soon BB x
  14. Finished The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenburgh (late) last night/this morning, a fantastic read, one of my favourite books this year definitely! Going to look the author up now to see if any more books are in the pipeline..
  15. I hope she is feeling better soon MM, what is her name? Was it Pyrometra? If so, it can take a while to get over and often complications arise.. what are you feeding her? She might benefit from small portions of very bland food, like you would give a dog after a bout of sickness/diarroeah (sp?!) Do let us know how she gets on, it' so hard when our furry friends are poorly.
  16. I have. Never have I had such wobbly legs for so long after a gym session!!
  17. Great to hear he's doing well BB, when Obi had a recent op on his groin we put a pair of our sons pyjama shorts on him and that was enough to discourage his nibbling, he hates the colours too and normally manages to destroy them within hours!
  18. Any news BB?
  19. I have, great fun!! Never have I skied...
  20. All ok and all had a wee x From my friend after she let my dogs out for me!
  21. I have. I have never coloured my hair..
  22. The Hairy Dieters Sweet and Sour Chicken.. very tasty and my house now smells like we've had a takeaway!!
  23. I have. Never have I eaten gnocci..
  24. Currently halfway through The Language of Flowers, loving how it is written in two different time frames with each having a direct impact on understanding the other, very clever and interesting to read..
