  1. Love those guys, Beef! They come to town at least once a year and put on a great show .
  2. *heavy sigh and a shake of the head* Rawr, Rawr, Rawr... I'm watching/listening to New Moon.
  3. I'm not sure why certain words or phrases are changing into American for you guys, because maybe it's just the fact that I live in the midwest, but I don't see the same happening here. When I think hard, the only word I spell on a regular basis that's English is 'theatre,' and I honestly don't know how I picked that up . I'm used to seeing words spelled like colour and favourite now because of you fine folk . I even think I heard myself call my mom 'mum' over the weekend!
  4. Mmm I love Indian. We have quite a few places up here but I've only found one that is to-die-for. We go there a lot for lunch at work. Tonight I had chicken spinach salad with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes! Very good even though the restaurant was lame .
  5. Ditto . I've got it on with commentary at the mo.
  6. Ugh, hated it when Lots more good episodes to come though for you guys!
  7. Nice, Stephanie! Yeah it's annoying, and I know they just do it that way to make more money. I love the 3-disc version I got from Target, but come on, try not to take all of our money!
  8. I didn't get all the same extra features you guys in the UK did . I was looking around online and realized that I'll have to buy 3 different store's copies in order to get all the extras that are out there. What a pain!
  9. What episode are you guys up to, Stephanie? New ones are finally starting up here again on Thursday - they haven't been on since before the Olympics! Oh, if I remember tonight I'll watch NCIS.
  10. OMG Starbucks, duh! Narrow-ruled or college-ruled notebooks?
  11. An exciting banana! The last one was about to go bad and I just bought another bunch yesterday.
  12. Darn, you are right, Dan, sorry! I saw Penn in Milk and while I thought the movie was good, I didn't really think he deserved the award. I was rooting for the guy in Frost/Nixon, but I still would love to see The Wrestler one of these days .
  13. A new episode of Big Bang Theory is on in less than 20 minutes, woohoo! Then the TV goes off and I'm hitting the hay.
  14. Can someone find me a picture of a dog dressed as a rabbit?
  15. Ditto, Stephanie!! Dan, I have yet to see The Wrestler. You think Mickey deserved his Oscar he earned last year for that role?
  16. Hey there and welcome to BCF, Rose! Glad you joined us . I'm reading PP&Z now too!
  17. Paint Ice skates or roller skates?
  18. Wooo, Stephanie! Cheers for finally seeing NM . I agree with you about the cringeworthy moments, and the whole thing was definitely a step up from the first movie. Listening to the commentary with Weitz was also really interesting, hearing why he decided to do things certain ways in this film, and how he wanted it to be different from the first one. I also liked that it had humor in it, which I didn't really notice come through much in the first film.
  19. Excellent, Dan!! I'm so glad you like it and would consider it a fave as well .
  20. New Moon's on in the background .
  21. Cool, Abby! Love that store . I'm reading PP&Z right now but have been concentrating more of my time on Bel-Ami. Speaking of, I'm about halfway through now. I was able to squeeze in quite a bit of reading yesterday but practically none today. The night is still young though! Dan, Count is a big read, but what do you think of it? I think I would consider it my favorite classic, if I had to choose.
  22. Ditto on the Secret History, Lynn! Loved that one as well .
  23. Yep, college sports are really popular here! Basketball, football, hockey, you name it. Maybe it's the fact that sports are so popular here and people will watch anything they can, pro or not, or that some of these players are really good and will hopefully be moving on to a pro team. My state's college team (MN Gophers) lost the other day so they are out of the tournament unfortunately. Now I'm just rooting for whoever can beat the guys who beat us!
  24. Coffee and a banana. I'll have a proper breakfast in an hour or so. I love that about Sundays, not having to rush to eat and run out the door!
  25. I watch basketball occasionally, JCW. Unfortunately my state's professional team hasn't been very good since the franchise started, and it's definitely a funner sport to watch if you've got a winning team! March Madness is going on now, like you said, and it's all college. People get very into it here, filling out their 'brackets' of who's going to make it to the Final Four. Do you guys have anything similar to basketball in the UK?
