Yeah I was very surprised! Such a great player, wish him all the best.
  2. Picked up Clive Barker's The Great and Secret Show from a charity shop as well as the Hunger Games Trilogy brand new from the Works for only £7.
  3. Saw The Great and Secret Show in a charity shop and couldn't resist
  4. Couldn't find a thread for this so thought I'd better start one. Saw Avengers Assemble today, it was very good! Great superhero film. Always been a big fan of Joss Whedon and his imput was very apparent. What did you guys think?
  5. Saw the Avengers today, was pretty awesome!
  6. I saw that as well... surprised you haven't read it already Karsa
  7. Like many others I would have to say IT by King.
  8. I have been meaning to check out a Barker novel for a while, I think this thread confirms that I should do it soon.
  9. No permanent residence at the moment, so I have books of all different series and genres that I next want to read with me and the rest are at the parents house on shelves and in wardrobes. not ideal but not much more I can do for now.
  10. I can't say I've read it but it got some great reviews, The Mammoth Book of Body Horror. Certainly on my wish list as I love horror as well. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Mammoth-Book-Body-Horror/dp/1780330391/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335823922&sr=8-1

Did you catch the end of the Trump/Carter game? Nail biting tension on the deciding frame! Some easy shots missed and some great snookers.
  14. I'd watch it, but definitely not at the cinema. One for Lovefilm I think

It was some incredible snooker! Will be a short session tomorrow!
  18. Watched a French comedy spoof of James Bond called OSS 117: Cairo Nest of Spies. Very funny in a Naked Gun/Airplane sort of way.
  19. I didn't really like the premise of it so I didn't bother reading it, but you should give World War Z ago, you may prefer it.
  20. I know zombies have been done to death recently (no pun intended) but this was a pleasant surprise. It is essentially a number of different first hand accounts of different peoples experience of the zombie apocalypse. It works really well, obviously some accounts are more interesting then others but done are boring and there is such a vast range, from the US military to a Chinese labourer and everything in-between. It is Brooks' second book, his first been the Zombie Survival Guide which I haven't read but doesn't really seem to be something I would be interested in. Has anyone else read either of these? The film adaptation of World War Z is being filmed at the moment for an early 2013 release starring Brad Pitt. I'm not sure how they will manage it as there isn't a lead character throughout the novel. Will be interesting to see how it is done though.
  21. He certainly makes it sound really interesting! Will definitely check it out
  22. Great thanks, I will have another look and check eBay
  23. Yeah, as well as Mallorean, Song of Ice and Fire, Banned and the Banished, Shannara Trilogy... and that's just the fantasy stuff.
  24. This series is one Sci-Fi I have been meaning to check out for a while, sounds really good!
  25. I bought all of the Belgariad and Mallorean in one go from eBay (good offer) without having read any Eddings The reviews have all been so good I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I think it is the fantasy series I will start after finishing Mistborn.
