  1. Wow all these stories sound great! Thanks for all your recommendations! Not specifically. Although I'm really into YA at the moment I also want to read some dystopian novels that aren't YA.
  2. I'm really into dystopian novels at the moment I have just read the whole Hunger Games trilogy and I absolutely loved it. I am now reading Crossed, the second book of the Matched series and I really want to read more dystopian books. Does anyone know some other good dystopian novels?
  3. Harry Potter When I was little I believed it was real and I was so disappointed when I didn't receive a letter from hogwarts when I turned 11
  4. I made a really good deal on this book, there was a special offer, two of these books for the price of one. I thought it was pretty strange, because why would anyone want to have two the same books? But my colleague wanted the book as well, so we bought them together. I got it for €5,00 (sorry, I don't know how much $ or £ that is) I finished it in one day and I really liked it. I'm looking forward to read the sequel
  5. Yeah definitely! I can't wait to see it, it looks very promising
  6. I'm finally done with my exams! I rewarded myself with a whole day of reading :D

  7. Hi Sabina! What kind of books do you like?
  8. So I just finished Mockingjay, the last book of the Hunger Games series. I had to cry a little because there were some really sad things in the book, but The Hunger Games series is truly amazing I'm still hungry for more Hunger Games, so I'm really looking forward to see the movie as well! Unfortunately it still takes two months before it is released... In the meantime I'll just enjoy a lot of other books
  9. Well I finished all of them. The books were beautiful. I also cried because of some sad events in Mockingjay
  10. I agree. I really didn't like the end. The last movie I saw was Hall pass.
  11. So I was wondering, what is your opinion about the series? I really liked Fallen, but I found Torment and Passion a bit disappointing. I really want to know what the last two books will be about, but I don't know if I am going to buy these books. The last two books in the series are Fallen in Love and Rapture. Fallen in Love is about to be released and this is a book with various love stories about the characters in the series. I believe all the stories take place on Valentine's day. Rapture is the final book and will be released in June. The covers of the books are beautiful as always So here's a summary of Fallen for those of you who want to know more about it. There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at Sword & Cross boarding school in Savannah. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.
  12. Yes that would be nice, but I can't help feeling sorry for Gale if they really fall in love eventhough Gale and Katniss were never together. Yeah I don't know why my friend said it was childish because it's definitely not. Maybe she thought the dutch translation was bad, that can also really ruin a book. That's why I prefer English.
  13. Yes they are They're very handy because you can put books on and behind other books.
  14. Rubber ducks. I've got about 90. But I rarely buy a new one, I feel like I have enough rubber ducks and one has to be really special for me to buy it now.
  15. Here are my bookshelves. Since my room is very small, most of my old children's books are in my sister's room. We used to share a very big room, but when I got my own I just left those books there What do you think about my pile of floating books? I used a secret spell on them to keep them floating... I haven't really organized my books. I only have my school books and dictionaries on one side of my bookshelf and the rest is just randomly placed. Because I have too many books for my shelves, I had to put a few books on another shelf and I actually have some books lying behind the other books on my shelves. Sorry for the big pictures. Something went wrong with uploading and now I can't seem to make them smaller
  16. From monday to friday I have school, and on friday evening and saturday I work in a bookstore. I'm a cashier there and I advise people about books. I also babysit sometimes, but that's actually not very often. After this year, I'm going to study psychology. But I'm not sure what job I would want to do after my study. I think it's interesting to use psychology in stores, like what makes people buy something and how can you influence that. I actually try that sometimes when I have to put the books in the bookstore straight in the shelves. I set the unknown and weird books in full sight so people see quicker that we actually have these books. Otherwise people won't even know that we have a book about what to do when zombies take over, while of course they were looking for a book about that for years! I pile books on tables in all kind of forms (like pyramids or in a spiral) so it looks nicer. I always thought no one would buy a book about zombie invasions or knitting christmas balls, no matter in what good sight they are. To my surprise, I noticed that it really works and we sold these books suddenly much more
  17. Also from the Netherlands I live here since I was born and I like it here. Except for the weather. That just sucks.

    Your Age?

    I hope not. I'm also 16.
  19. The last movie I saw was The Knowing. It was really disappointing. It started promising and interesting but how longer we were watching, how weirder it got. Especially the end was just awful. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time by watching this movie.
  20. Chiara

    Hi :)

Welcome Rebecca! I hope you will have a nice time here!
  21. I'm addicted and looking forward to the movie as well! What do you think of Catching fire so far? I just started it and I'm very curious, but unfortunately, I haven't got much time to read today.
  22. How I would love having an entire room full of books!
  23. Although you probably already have enough movies to keep you busy for quite some time, I (movie-addict as I am) would like to add a few more great movies - Double jeopardy - Don't say a word - Phone booth - Panic room - Flightplan - Disturbia - Hostage - The uninvited - Déjà vu These are all thrillers and, in my opinion, really worth watching I also really like the Big Bang theory and I could recommend How I met your mother as well. I always find it enjoyable to watch these series
