  1. Sorry my mistake I thought you was after real events
  2. was you after fiction or non fiction? I don't know if they have books out but I'm sure a quick search on Google or amazon will tell you but sally Morgan & Colin fry. I'm sure both or at least 1 of them has helped police with their gift. whether they've wrote about it or just spoken about it I'm not sure. hope this helps
  3. Taken 2 Breaking Dawn Part 2 The Avengers Prometheus Savages I'm sure there are others too. I like the look of Snowhite and the Huntsman too. It looks quite dark
  4. Again I totally agree Michelle. The whole Rue thing felt extremely rushed for me. Also if I hadn't read the book I don't think I would have been able to follow it that easily. For example I'm pretty sure there was no reference to Effie's name. I wouldn't of known who she was
  5. I totally agree with you. I enjoyed it but wouldn't watch it again I don't think. I didn't get lost in the movie. I can't put my finger on what the problem was though. I thought it was because I had just finished the book and maybe it was a bit too much too soon but I'm not sure.
  6. Bought myself a mountain bike for the summer. Be nice to get out there and see different places. I don't need to loose weight but would like to tone up more and loose an inch or 2 off my thighs as well as improve my overall fitness. Can't beat the buzz exercise gives you Was meant to go the peak district on an 18 mile route over easter but sadly the weather was awful. I was really gutted. Hopefully it'll be nicer next weekend so we can go. All the best guys. Just think of those beach bods
  7. Hey Laura Just read your review of 'One Child' if you liked it theres a sequel I'm not sure if you are aware or not. It's called 'The Tigers Child'. Also if you are interested in this kind of genre theres a book called 'A Child Called It' by Dave Pelzer. It's about his abusive childhood and the way his mother treated him. Left to sleep in the basement on an old coat and fed scraps of dog food. Maybe worth a try. Its a popular read.
  8. I forgot to add that I thought it was great that they had Caesar Flickerman narrating throughout the games and explaning things for the audience who haven't read the books. I.e explaing about the tracker jackers and their side affects etc.
  9. I saw it last night. Am I the only person that felt a little bored during it though I think it's because I only finished reading the book last week and it was a bit of an overload. My friend I went with also thought the same. She had only just finished it too. I guess the books are always better aren't they. The film was pretty much spot on to the book though. It annoyed me seeing bits missing but obviously they can't cover everything. I found that I also didn't think they but again they only have limited time. I noticed they didn't Also What really really annoyed me was the camera shaking at the part when they I couldn't tell what was going on & who was being etc. I'm sure myself & my friend are in the minority though with regards to the film. We both LOVED the books.
  10. Please can someone help me use the spoiler tag function. I'm trying to post something :-)

  11. Cannot wait to start on the second hunger games now that I have it!!!!!

  12. treated myself to a mountain bike. roll on summer now can't wait

  13. I would recommend My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher. Its about a young boys family & their stuggle to come to terms with the death of their daughter / sister. Shes killed by a terrorist who plants a bomb. Their dad through his grief and lack of understanding is racisit about muslims and thinks they are all terrorists. His son his bullied and his only friend is a muslim and its about their friendship. It covers other things like bullying, grief and a little bit of religion. It's a young adult read and is perfect for teens. Not a taxing read. It is written from the point of view of a 10 year old boy.
  14. What an ending!!! Can't wait until October to find out what happens. I want to write what I think might happen but I can't work out how to use the spoiler option lol
  15. This is off the back cover for the pact incase you didn't find it ..... For eighteen years the Hartes and the Golds have lived next door to each other, sharing everything from Chinese food to chicken pox to carpool duty. Parents and children alike are best friends - so it's no surprise that in high school Chris and Emily's friendship blossoms into something more. They've been soul mates since they were born. When the midnight calls come in from the hospital, no one is prepared for the appalling truth: Emily is dead at seventeen from a gunshot wound to the head as part of an apparent suicide pact. The gun holds a single unspent bullet that Chris tells police he intended for himself, but a local detective has doubts. And the Hartes and Golds, in a single terrifying moment, must face every parent's worst fear: do we ever really know our children at all? Can't wait to finally try one of her books. Have you read any Diane Chamberlain books before? She's meant to write very similar. I can recommend The Midwifes Confession great read. He he never mind. I did wonder who you was talking to I'll check that book out you mentioned. Thanks
  16. I haven't read 1 of her books before but have the pact here waiting to be read now. should make a start on it nxt week.
  17. Yay my books arrived. Only reserved it yest. Now thats service. What a fab library I have :-)

  18. 15 omg!!!! :o Let me know what you think of The Woman He Loved Before. It's been on my wish list ever since it first came out. It's got some good reviews.
  19. How did you find One Child in the end? Would you recommend it? I nearly reserved it from the library but didn't in the end. Maybe next time.
  20. How do you guys manage to read so much I only manage to read on average 2 books a month. It normally takes me 2 weeks to read a book. If I'm lucky maybe a week.
  21. I have reserved at the library 'My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece' by Annabel Pitcher and 'The Pact' by Jodi Picoult. Hope they arrive before the weekend. I hate being without a book at my hands. Especially ones I've had my eye on for a while.
  22. I agree with Chalie I don't think I've recommended a book so highly before. I can't believe you found it in a charity shop. I don't think I could part with it Come back and let us know what you think Ruth
  23. Yay glad you liked it She has another book coming out in September called 'The Girl You Left Behind' which I can't wait to get my hands on. Although I can't find the blurb on it yet I'm sure if it's only half as good as this then I know I'll enjoy it
  24. I've finally made a start on these Just finished the first one and loved it I wished I had started them sooner. I have to admit that the reason I didn't was because the covers put me off. I didn't think they were going to be my cup of tea. I know, never judge a book by it's cover Can't wait to read the next 2 and watch the flim now yippeeeeee
  25. Finished the first book of Hunger Games series and loved it!!!! Why did it take me so long to start it??

    1. Ben

      Ben

I was the same, I didn't read them until a couple of days ago and when I read them I instantly regretted not reading them earlier.
