  1. Just glad I am on a forum with people wjo like me are addicted to reading and books I have to limit myself now as it got to the stage that if I read book one of a series and enjoyed it I would go out of my way to get the rest of the set even if it was through charity shops and amazon penny books, so limit myself to getting them out of the library , so it keeps the cost issue alright as these ones I have to return .. :smile2:
  2. If I can have 2 - which is cheating I know, but ... The ABC murders by Agatha Christie, love all of them but this was the first one I ever read.. many moons ago A Place Of Execution by Val Mcdermid, once I started reading it I could not put this book down and in my opinion is better than her Tony Hill/ Carol \Jordan series although I like the earlier ones of this series too.
  3. Agree with the above posters.... only joined the forum yesterday and now have a large reading list as well as lists of so many series of books I want to try :giggle2:
  4. Once again thanks for the amazing welcome!!! have been looking at the forum sites that interest me the most first , only problem is I now have a new list of authors and series to try . The libray is going to love all my requests :irked:
  5. Love this series! So I am watching it again and recording it so I can watch it whenever the fancy takes me. Its well done and well worth a look ... Must admit was a bit nervous the first time I watched it as I loved jeremy brett series but this series is A1
  6. I can read with music or the radio on, but definately not with the tv on, or my husbands x box ( that drives me potty ) Love to have a glass of diet cola by my side , also read in bed and have been known to stop reading as the birds start singing and then wonder why I am tired all the next day, but being a mild insomniac reading helps me from looking at the clock and wondering why the rest of the house is sleeping but I am not :giggle2:
  7. Like a lot of readers, I don't like to part with books, so I keep mine in bookcases and in clear boxes up the loft. I tend to rotate my booksfrom the loft to the shelves and I drive my hubby crazy by making him go up the loft every 3/4 months. :D
  8. Thank you for the great welcome have been browsing the forum for months and have finally plucked up the courage to post. It just so nice to see as many people who love reading as much as I doxx

  11. One of my favourites is Patricia Scanlan, I also like Jilly Cooper and Fiona Walker for pure escapism. They are great to read after I have read a more challenging read as I feel they are easy to pick up and read quite quickly just before bedtime :Zzzz:
