  1. I also vote for Amityville Horror.
  2. My favorite Greene story is The Quiet American. It is not entirely accurate, but still is a good story.
  3. Nam phrik, which is a spicy kind of sauce made with fermented fish, crushed up chilis and garlic and other stuff, and rice. There is always rice.

    Favourite sports?

My favorite sports are American football and also martial arts, both full contact MMA and san shou. However the only sports I engage in today are boxing and squash.
  5. This is third novel in trilogy about Constantine Phaulkon, aka The Falcon, who was highest ranking foreigner in history if Thailand. I have read the first 2 books, The Falcon Of Siam and The Falcon Takes Wing, several times but never was able to find this book before as it is rare. I know how story turns out because I have read numerous books about Phaulkon, but I still really enjoy these books by Axel Aylward more than the others.
  6. Bang Rajan 2, which is a Thai movie and sequel to bang rajan, which is true story about battle between Siam and Burma that is like to Thais what The Alamo is to Americans. Both these movies have really great battle scenes, even better than Bravehart in my opinion.
  7. I thought the novel The Fountainhead was really awful. It seemed to me the only purpose for it was to convince people how smart Ayn Rand was and to preach her philosophy, which I do not care aboutr one way or another but I thought it was just a bad story.
  8. I do not know what you are talking about, but welcome to you too. A welcome change from the network of enforced conformity and internet dictatorship.
  9. I think Lawrence Sanders mysteries have all of these things in them.
  10. I also loved friends, but I think the greatest sitcom series of all time was The Honeymooners. You can still get these shows on a dvd, and there was never one episode that was not really funny.
  11. Finished reading Bitter Feast by SJ Rozan and it was good but I did not like it as much as the others I read. For one thing, there are some very rude feds in the story. I worked with plenty of feds and did not care for them much generally but one thing about them, they are all super polite, no matter what agency they are from. They are so polite it makes you sick, unlike the feds in this book. Also, they never really insult the locals, which they also do frequnetly in this novel. They are mostly condescending and patronizing, and basically think we were all corrupt morons, while the locals think the feds are all arrogant geeks.
  12. I recently read Gone South and I loved it, but it is not really a horror story. It has very bizarre characters though, and is also very funny in some parts. I would recommend this book to anyone, regardless of what kind of books they read, because it has something for everyone.
  13. I watched Ben-Hur last night. It was strange because it was in Thai. I really love this movie. I think movies were much better when they had stuntmen like in the chariot race, instead of phony looking computerized crap they do now.
  14. I love Frasier and have many dvds. I also love Everybody Loves Raymond and Third Rock from the Sun.

    Jules Verne

I loved Journey to the center of the Earth and twenty Thousand leagues Under the Sea.
  16. I watched Passion of the Christ last nihght. It is like 3 hours of endless brutality but I thought well made. My wife and her mother, who were Buddhists like everyone here, converted to Christianity, and lady at church told them to watch this. I advised against this but got film from video store, but like I figured they are very sensitive and cried through much of the movie.

    Avatar

Watched movie Avatar last night. It was a good story but pretty ridiculous. It is bad enough US is always bad guy in movies about present days, but now it gets carried on into the future.
  18. watched movie from South Africa called Faith Like Potatoes. It was really great movie.
  19. I really loved The Shining, but I thought Colorado Kid was worst thing ever written in english language.
