  1. Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowatt is a really good book of this type. About scientist who lives alone in arctic with wolves.
  2. The New Testament.
  3. I just finished reading The Black Angel, and it was really great. One of the few books I have read lately that I really could not stop reading until it was finished. I liked it much more than The Unquiet, though I liked that one very much also. When I get back to Chiang mai I will quickly return to used bookstore to buy other books from this series.
  4. Shangri-la from Lost Horizon
  5. Hello Thaidave. No I have not read this book. I have seen it though and almost bought it. Is it good? I have read most of the Christopher G. Moore and John Burdett books, as well as all the Falcon novels. My favorite writer about SE Asia, though, is Colin Cotterill. I have read all his books more than once.
  6. Welcome to you. At used bookstore yesterday found Stone quarry and although I read it already I think I will read it again.
  7. Yesterday started reading John Connolly book Black Angel. It is very interesting and exciting. I read one other book of this series but forget name but it was very good also, about a doctor accused of child molesting. If you like these books maybe also enjoy Repairman Jack stories, from F. Paul wilson. Also supernatural detective stories.
  8. My favorite book about India is first book I ever read, which was The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.
  9. Hello. I also like Hagberg novels. I read one long time ago which was really good about ex-nazis and east German Stasi.

    Yes that is the one.
  12. Instant coffee and ginger mixed together.
  13. Wife is out of town so I am making own dinner. Spiral pasta and canned kaeng khiew wan tuna.
  14. Finished this book and I enjoyed it immensely but partly because the guy who wrote it rewrote history. The ending of this book is much better than reality, which is okay I suppose since it is historical novel, and not history.
  15. I read very exciting novel which is allegedly based on true story about guy who escapes from Australian prison and goes to India where he works for gangster and opens clinic in slums. It is called Shantaram or something like that, but I cannot remember author's name.
  16. Stuff called phat phrik kaeng pla meuk which is spicy curry with squid and one of my favorite dinners.
  17. hot ginger drink

    King David

This book was written by Tom Houston and is very interesting historical account of King David. I especially liked the descriptions of the battles and military strategy of David and other leaders from Old Testament.
  22. Karate Kid 3. Totally ridiculous but I always love to watch jackie Chan's movies.
  23. For Thai New year also called songkran we are having people to house for dinner. Thai people and farang. Wife is making tom kha kai which is made with coconut milk and chicken, and also phat tahu which is fried tofu dish for missionary and family who are vegetarians. It is very cool and rainy for this time of year, so there has not been as much water throwing as normally, at least in this village, although there is plenty in downtown Chiang Mai.
  24. I agree. refer to previous posting.
  25. Channel 3 news from Bangkok.
