  1. I'm not into sci - fi. Too mainstream for me and it doesn't meet my tastes. I think they're incredibly overrated!
  2. Scariest one for me was 'Let The Right One In' but 'Handling The Undead' might rival it!
  3. Stephen King is good but Linqvist is better!
  4. Totally disagree. It is much more than a zombie book. It is a coming of age tale, one about finding you own identity, sexual rites of passage, overcoming bullying. It has elements of horror and a wide range of generic conventions so it can reach out to a wider audience. I'll pick you out some examples if you want!
  5. I love Great Expectations. It's a fantastic and at times dark relection on Victorian society that is still relevant today and I really like it. Mrs Havisham and Estella are so cruel to Pip!
  6. HI, It's called Handling The Undead and I've read it!
  7. Brilliantly descriptive. I've only read 50 pages and I already am gripped. Arguably better than Let The Right One In!
  8. I'm a swedish boy being drowned in a swimming pool by some of his school class mate bullies until someone comes to stop them for ever!
  9. I can't stand Agatha Christie books nor any of them hideous, boring programmes on ITV 3/4.
  10. For me it wold have to be paperback books, they get damaged to easily when you turn the pages. I far prefer hardbacks!
  11. I like John Grisham. His best books for me are The Chamber, The Client and The Confession. But I love all of them really!
  12. I'm with Stephen on this one. Usually when the plot and characters aren't developing fast enough for me to sympathise with them or get hooked up on it. That depends a lot on the topic and authorship as well!
  13. I'm part of a group of three travelers in far away dangerous, magical lands searching for someone and something. Can you guess?
  14. I'm a relatively slow reader. I read around 40 pages a day and that's when at I'm at my best. On that average I can read one book every 1 - 2 weeks.
  15. I think it is the most overrated book and movie of all time. Let The Right One In should be getting far more recognition and I also prefer the Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev is a little bit too hot when that's on ITV2.
  16. Let The Right One In is an excellent read. It is very dark and disturbing at times. I like books like this. Hakan and his paedophile behaviour towards children is a particularly disturbing aspect. You've also got the blood kiss between Oskar and Eli, the violent killing scenes and the bullies. This is a lot more than simply a vampire film. It is a horror/thriller but also generically a coming of age film that sees Oskar and Eli attempt to find their own identity. Strong messages are portrayed on bullying as well. John Linqvist is obviously a naturally talented author who is obviously writing from the back of his heart about things he feels strongly about. The books is light years better than the film that isn't anywhere near as graphic or as in depth as the novel. It's still good which further emphasises the quality of this novel. It deserves way more recognition than the overrated, mainstream Twilight books. I would recommend it to anyone who has the pleasure to come across it.
  17. Mine. 1. The Chronicles Of Narnia - CS Lewis 2. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory - Roald Dahl 3. Danny The Champion Of The World - Roald Dahl 4. The Find Outer series - Enid Blyton 5. Famous Five series - Enid Blyton I have a lot more I like too!
  18. The Rapture is a fantastic and disturbing read. Liz Jensen is undoubtedly a very clever author. That would have to be my all time favourite.
  19. Sadly I don't think enough teenagers read. The students in my class always hated reading out in my college aloud or to themselves. I have to admit that I haven't really much at 18 but I'm starting to now. I read Roald Dahl and Enid Byton as a child, all of the Harry Potter series, Lord Of The Rings, Let The Right One In and The Rapture so it's getting better and not bad.
  20. I've read all of her series of Harry Potter books. I love them. They get better in the latter books with my favourite being The Deathly Hallows. I was so glad that Harry defeated Lord Voldermort. I don't think it's as good as Lord Of The Rings but not bad.
  21. I've only just started reading regularly. JRR Tolkien is a brilliant author. I've just read The Hobbit and The Fellowship Of The Rings which are both just a wonderful, descriptive world of fantasy. I've read the first chapter of The Two Towers as well and I think I will like it a lot.
