  1. The Inbetweeners 10/10 Absolute quality, so funny!
  2. Misha and Craig stood out for me last night and the boy group weren't bad.
  3. Janet blew me away with the voice, it sounded exactly like Ellie Goulding's version and there are similarities with Diana Vickers. No one else really stood out, Frankie had a decent voice but the attitude has to change and Kitty was not very likeable and painful to listen to. The guy at the end was a disgrace, he hasn't changed at all, once he was criticised, he proved himself to be the foul mouthed mess that he is! The woman from Hong Kong was bizzare, not bad for a first audition! The judging panel really impressed me, Tulisa is feisty and can stick up for herself, there are inveitable comparisons with Cheryl. Kelly adds an American touch and it's refreshing to see a black female judge, and Gary is taking over the Simon Cowell anchor role.
  4. Paul, you can't beat Simon Pegg and Nick Frost for comedy. Love Hot Fuzz and Shaun of The Dead as well. 10/10

Superb turn around from England in this test match. The amount of times they got themselves out of trouble is commendable. At 124-8 in the first innings, Broad and Swann come in with that partnership. Or when India were 267-4, Broad has a hat-trick and also when England were 4 wickets down in the second innings with not much of a lead, Bell, Morgan, KP, Bresnan, Broad and Prior chip in. They just don't know when they're beaten, it was a team effort and this is what is so great about this current England side. There are so many outstanding performers that it's impossible to pick a man of the match, let alone a team because there is so much competition. Bresnan making that selection policy even harder with a good batting and bowling performance. If I had to it would be Broad because the way he has responded to his critics with his fine all round performance in the first two test matches is top class. For me this England side could be better than the Ashes 2005 winning team because there are so many outstanding performers and so much competition that doesn't even get in the side.

Indeed, there were quite a few ups and downs. England were stuggling in the first innings before Zaheer Khan got injured and found themselves 70-5 at one point. England have been very consistent at test cricket over the last couple of years, with the Flower and Strauss partnership, hence the fact that they are so close to being the number one side in the world.
  7. Very true, public opinion is hugely reflected in newspapers. People are only going to read something conforming to their views. Newspapers do at times have the potential to form public opinion as well. The rise of this celebrity news Weave brings up is called 'infotainment', sensationalised news for entertainment, celebrities such as Amy Winehouse are used for this. It's a typical tabloid style and is dumbing down at it's worst but it aims at the mass, sells and makes money. Commercial imperative is sadly key over anything else.
  8. Granted there was a point where she had a choice of whether to take the drugs and drink the alcohol, but that was years ago, and if she had an addictive personality to start with it's very easy to fall into a bad cycle like she did. At the end of the day she should be remembered for her talent and not a few reckless decisions she made years ago which led her to this sad end.Yes, I do think the Norwegian massacre deserves more coverage, but that's just the nature of the British media...the story of a dead celebrity who's drug and alcohol addiction has been well documented is going to pull more mass readers than the deaths (although tragic) of nameless people. It's bad but it's just the way the media is, they'll write what will sell the most papers. I hate how a lot of newspapers *cough*thesun*cough* have gone from publishing horrible stories about her a few years ago, to calling her an angel and a wasted talent (which she is)....they didn't exactly help her by splashing photos of her drugged up on their front pages to sell papers....such hypocrisy. I'm a Journalism student by the way!

Yes, I agree. I think we can definately win by two clear test matches and become the number one side in the world. The conditions will favour England at Trent Bridge as well. Agreed btw Raven!

Dominant performance from England in this test match against the best team in the world. KP had a superb double hundred, Prior and Broad a crucial partnership in the second innings and Anderson bowled beautifully to win it for England in the second innings. There were plenty of candidates for man of the match with Prior's excellent wicket keeping and Broad's all round brilliant game but KP deserves it for me. England showed why they can be number one in the world in this test match, the batting order has depth, they have arguably the best wicketkeeper in test cricket and the bowling is also arguably the best. India will say they got unlucky with injuries to Khan and Gambhir or illness to Tendulkar but that takes nothing away from the performance. A long way to go in the series yet but it is a dream start.
  11. 21 years or the equivalent of 82 days per crime is a ridiculous sentence for a mass murderer, especially if you consider the sentence in the UK is near as much for one murder. The crimes were the work of a well educated person who had right wing and extremist views towards Islam. The people he shot were selected and Norway, Europe and all other western democracies that encourage mulitculturalism are clearly at threat. This guy needs to be dealt with in a humane way to send the message out that people in democratic socities are in the right and that violence, no matter how evil the person is will not be tolerated. It will then hopefully in the process combat international terroism and the threat of an increase in these extreme right wing political groups, clearly driven by delusional ideologies.
  12. Just come back from Crewe watching the second Harry Potter. Fantastic film, far better and more dramatic than the first part. I felt like crying as all them years of watching it have now come to an end. We've grown up with it and that's what so amazing about the Harry Potter films.
  13. Tom winning is a suprise. He was in the boardroom on countless occasions througout the series and in the only time he was project manager, his team still lost. The ideas were rubbish as well, some stupid curved nail file which only got compliments because he managed to deliver it to a Walmart buyer. The flogging office chairs was funny when he missed out the "chair" bit in his business plan. LS went for him because he was an inventor and seller like him. Jim was just all charm and cliches, nothing else. Susan really should have won. She has by far the best business and makes £1,000 a weekend selling her own cosmetics at Greenwich market and has managed to convince every Boots store in the country to give her business a million-pound profit by the end of the first year. It was a shame that she did not understand marketing and even got into the trap of acknowledging this when LS asked her in the boardroom. Her naivety and immaturity cost her as well, she was hard to like. Helen was unlucky also as she was only in the losing team once and was by far the most consistent candidate. It is a shame that her boring dental appointments business idea let her down and lack of personality. This has been an interesting Apprentice series but it lacked the character of previous series which included The Brand and Katie Hopkins.
  14. Cheers Ben. Seen the last night's ep, glad Natasha is gone. For someone who banged on about doing a degree in hospitality, you can't fail in a task involving food. The excuse on BBC Breakfast was that she had completed her degree in 2002 and it was a long time ago, also it focused more on business apparently. This is not a good enough excuse, doing a degree is supposed to make you more knowledgeable for life and The Apprentice is about business anyway. I noticed that she was coming up with excuses for her feuds with Susan as well, apparently they get on well away from the TV! What did you think?
  15. The Apprentice is on tonight and I'm going to miss it because I'm attending a football match! Anyone know of any repeats or is it on I player for me to catch up with it?
  16. The most annoying ad by a mile is that weird man on GO COMPARE lol

Djokovic played an incredible game against Nadal. Anything Nadal threw at him, Djokovic had an answer with his super human returning, defensive play and athleticism around the court. He was winning all the rallies and the second set was genuis. This guy has one truly remarkable year, one which he has dominated with 50 wins out of 51 and two Grand Slams to go with it. He is the dominant force in men's tennis at the moment and will win slam after slam for sure if he continues this super human performance. It is five wins in a row now against Rafa. The last six months have been the greatest performance by a male in tennis history.

It was an odd day in Wimbledon today. All of the 'fab four' had tough games, with the exception of Murray. Tsonga beating Federer was more a shock because of the fact he was two sets up and had been playing some of the best tennis in his career in this year's Wimbledon, carrying on from the French. Don't get me wrong, Tsonga is capable of beating anyone on his day and is use to big occasions. Tomic was always going to be a tricky opponent for Djokovic. He is young and unpredictable. You don't know if he's going to hit a crushing winner or another of his many unforced errors. This is what made it difficult for Novak today and you could tell. Tomic has got the game to be a huge star in the not too distant future because it is one hell of an achievement to get through to the Quarter-Finals of the hardest slam at 18. Murray was more comfortable than he thought he would be, Lopez is a decent player on grass and has a good record of reaching two quarter finals, so he was not to be sniffed at. It was a very encouraging display, followed on from the Gasquet performance really. He did have the easiest win today but I suspect he still had the easiet draw. Nadal did well because Fish has been playing the tennis of his life. He has lost a lot of weight and really got his game back on track. He is a good grass court player and is currently America's number one tennis player. In the semi-finals, I can see Novak having just about too much for Tsonga as he wins in five and Nadal will win in four against Murray. I can still see Nadal going on to win this thing because he's the number one and you have to back him, the only thing that can stop him is any injury.

Murray was comfortable today once he won the first set, he stepped up another level today and he has a great chance of getting to at least the semi-finals now as Kubot is unseeded and rather a suprise package considering he is a specializt doubles player more than singles. Beating Lopez in itself today would be a shock considering Lopez beat Roddick in the previous round. Great to see Bartoli win against Serena, she is a much improved player from when she beat Justin Henin a few years ago and her serving was fantastic. Venus also out to the woman that beat her last season. Looks like the Williams sisters dominance is finally coming to an end. Federer through in four, Djokovic in straight sets and Nadal v Del Potro is a close run thing. Tomic, the 18 year old Australian is one to look out for as well.
  20. Yes, I've seen the 1998 original. I'm not usually keen on American remakes but I think this is as good as the original.
  21. Loving The Apprentice at the moment. Leon definately deserved to go this week. He did absolutely nothing to contribute towards the task for his team. All he did was draw some pictures and it is no excuse using any such language barriers. Susan admitted she knew nothing about France but she didn't let that become a barrier. Melody had to take a lot of the blame for the failure of Tom's team as she was the one that wasn't keen on the bag idea, despite market research proving that the French public saw it as a good idea. Let's be honest, no one in their right mind would think that more people in France or anywhere used the Metro than a car. Tom was the only one on the team that wanted the backpack but as team leader he showed absolutely no authority but just gave into the influence of his team. His team were never going to win with their pathetic choices of some tea pot lamp and postcard. The backpack and moblile phone holder were always going to make more money. Got to admit, the boys on this series don't live up to much and I would put a lot on a female winning this series.
  22. ^ Bridesmaid is like Hangover but for woman, not that men can't view it because I liked it a lot. As for me, I saw the Ring (2002) last night. This has to be the most disturbing film I've ever seen. There are still images of little girls coming out of TV screens in my head, add the fact that I was watching this DVD in the early hours of this morning.

All the British women are out now as Robson and Baltacha crashed out, although both gave their respective seeds a good game. The women's game has a lot of potential with these two and the likes of Watson and Keothavong. Treat in store today with Nadal, Federer and Djokovic all in action. Murray did well to overcome the big serving, hugely experienced, in form Llubjic yesterday in four.

Andy played some fantastic tennis at Queens but he always seem to do so in ATP Tour events, when it comes to the Grand Slams over five sets it is completely different. Andy will get to the Semi Finals as he usually does, as he better than most men on the tour but not as good as the likes of Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. Just hope he plays that shot again and that people get off his back with all this 'he hates England rubbish' and back him like we used to do with Henman.!
