It is! I have to ban myself from walking into book stores or checking out the daily kindle sales.

I've been away from here & reading for far too long! In fact it seems like an eternity! My lovely other half gifted me a nice new Paper White Kindle for Christmas & as a result I've started to curl up in the evenings to spend a little time reading. I'm currently on the Dance of Dragons (approx 200 pages in) and then I have around 140 books to choose from .

I am tempted by Room - Emma Donoghue, This Perfect World - Lucinda Riley, Hothouse Flower - Lucinda Riley, Trespass - Rose Tremain & You're Next - Gregg Hurwitz. I'm undecided with The Blasphemer. I've just finished Never Let You Go by Kazuo Ishiguru, which I found to be a fabulouslu captivating read & would like to get around to reading more of his works. I've got a few Jo Nesbø books, The Tenth Chamber (Glenn Cooper) & Cracks (Sheila Kohler) to get on with in the meantime.

I've got the first 5 books to feast on once I finish reading Never Let Me Go. Can't wait!

Wooo . I downloaded the PC kindle software & started ordering to there, once it was charged they were all ready in my archived items

Mine arrived today, it's an early birthday present from my fella.

I do, I think she had a lucky escape in the past few weeks ... what was it he said she's been in the boardroom 5 times . I dread to think what type of crisps they are going to come up with on the next task!

Some little cup cakes won. The head of the company just picked a cake at random I think lol. Still it was good fun & the vouchers will always come in handy. I'm just happy my cake turned out ok & I left with an empty plate. A few even went up for seconds .

You know I do have ingredients in for another batch . The recipe is here though, if it's of any use Cake Nom Nom

The end result ... I didn't get top prize but I did get £20 worth of shopping vouchers! I do think that I may have eaten too much cake over the last few hours though!

So all I've been doing for the last 2 months is work, work & more work. Then I get an email to say that we're having a few social hours during work time to chat with our new manager & have some fun ... & if we fancy it we can a bit of a bake off. Well any excuse for cake suits me lol. I decided to try & bake something I've never tried before. The filling in the middle of the layers will be a sweet-ish cheese cake styled mix. With it being meringue though I won't fill it until I get to work. I just hope it tastes nice

I'm not eating it just yet ... but I do have a lemon meringue cake in the oven. The filling is made too, I just hope it turns out ok

Yep I think it's someone's representation, & you should be able to stretch it over the 3 but you may need to wiggle about with the image a bit.

I'm hoping to get the last season on DVD for Christmas. I missed the TV airing too & can't wait get my hands on the DVD's so I can lock myself away & watch them all .

I was having a look on Wiki (I know, I know, not the most reliable of sources)& it mentioned The Bat Man & The Cockroaches .. are these books out of print as I can't seem to find them anywhere. Or is it me being daft lol.

The Book People usually have a fab selection of children's books, there might be something there that would be suitable. I think they have the activity kind too
