Bless the kids lol. I will have to dig the ones I have out of storage at some point then & give them a whirl. I think I have the first 3 books, but I'm not 100% sure

Just looking at that makes my brain want to explode I work for an online gambling company. So daily I talk lots of gibberish about anything & everything. The weather, what people are having to eat, how much we all want to send a bunch of flying monkeys at the bingo caller in the hope he'll shake those balls up . In a way it's online meet & greet, mixed with customer service, marketing & entertainment. I've been working there for 3 years now & like with many jobs it's a love-hate relationship ... pay day is fab, the unsociable hours .. not so fab
  4. 1 - I have 8 piercings 2 - I have bouts of mild insomnia & live off 0-4hours sleep for up to about a week & half ... then I tend to snooze for a day to recover 3 - My hands are always too hot 4 - I love candles & nice smelling oils 5 - I'm often told I'm too caring. I'll go out of my way for others, even when sometimes I know the best I'll get in return is a kick in the teeth. I will only go so far though before I have to put my foot down & then people stand back & go
  5. "You dirty rat: Daring rodent shows puzzled leopard exactly who's boss by stealing its lunch" The pics just make you go awwww News article

Looks like you've noted down some great authors. Some I've never come by but I'll add them to my list ty!

Hmm where to start... ok im Becki, I'm shy around ppl that im not very familiar with, but they soon discover im a 5ft loony-bin with an over active imagination . Age: 23 Tattoos: 1 - barbed wire styled Ankh on the back of my neck Piercings: 8 (was 10 but I had to retire 2) Job: Online chat host (not of the kinky variety though!) Favourite(s): Colour - Purple Room Smells - Fruity & refreshing smells (Mango, Dewberry, Coconut etc) Synthetic Dread Colours - A mix of transitional dreads all starting from black going to deep purple, bright aqua blue & magenta pink. Perfume - Anna Sui (Sui Dreams & Secret Wish) Nina Ricci (Nina & Ricci Ricci) Davidoff (Cool Water) Vanilla Coconut ... again sweet, fruity & refreshing smells, nothing too floral. I often have quite a sarcastic humour .. I never mean to offend so if I do, feel free to bop me on the nose . I enjoy relaxing, reading, PC gaming, camping, legend of the 5 rings (CCG) & snoozing! I think that's about it, feel free to ask anything & I promise I'll try not turn into a politician to avoid any questions

    Hello!

Welcome Clare, I'm pretty new too but everyone is lovely here! I will warn you that your TBR (To Be Read) pile of books will surely expand. They're all a bad influence, but in a good way . Happy Reading!
  12. It's so hard to pick just one, but if I had to pick a series I'd be torn between Tess Gerritsen - Rizzoli/Isle Series & Karin Slaughter - Grant County series.
  13. I love your egg pic Poppy. The frowny one at the front is like me at the moment when my fella says, has the urticaria calmed down ... whilst I'm in the middle of not trying to scratch my skin completely off Hopefully it'll go soon, the urticaria that is .. the frowny face can stay
  14. Breathtaking, I'd love to see this in person!
  15. How very dare you poke me in the ribs & tell me that if I look to the left I will see a bunch of semi naked firemen heading my way .. only for you to steal my cookies whilst I'm distracted!
  16. I buy a lot of my books online, but if I am out & about I always end up in a book store .. or 2 WHSmith - I like some of the offers they have. The Works - I love being able pick 3 books up for a fiver , it just takes some shuffling skills & determination lol. Webberleys - a local bookshop that also has craft supplies upstairs. They usually have a great choice of books, but not too many offers. I have a Waterstones nearby too but I find them a little pricey. Sometimes I will pick the odd book up in a supermarket, I try to avoid the book section if I can (after all I need room for the shopping). Otherwise I walk past only to slowly step backwards to have a better look
  17. Not sure if someone has suggested this already in a previous post. But someone I met once suggested to me to re-read a book that you've read & enjoyed before. The idea is you don't have to pay too much attention & can skim or skip parts as you already know the story, but it might kick start that mojo into reading action.
  18. Usually just the one, on the rare occasion I may have two books on the go.
  19. that doesn't sound good at all! Hope you get it sorted.
  20. Oh I just thought Andrea, I managed to pick up the 3 Dean Koontz books for a fiver from The Works. Sometimes it does take a good shuffle around to find books in those stores & sometimes you might have to move 5 copies before you find one in a nice condition , but if you have one close maybe have a peek in . Some of the authors on my list I've tried before & then realised the books are part of a series so I need to go back & start from the beginning. Others I've spotted when out & about, read the blurb & thought "I'll add it to the list" lol. I've got a terrible habit of of noting down authors & isbn's in my phone when I'm out window shopping. It's not really a bad thing .. although my bank balance might not quite agree with that statement . Oh and then there are friends recommendations & of course Amazon never leaves me alone ... "50% of crime, 30% off new releases" ... "
  21. I did it at school too & still have an hardback version at my parents house, but it has annotations in it so I brought a new copy. I've never seen it acted out, although I would love to at some point. I always found the story intriguing & I can't wait to re-read it. I have an annotated copy of animal farm somewhere too

 like a true numpty I posted on my own wall instead of yours

So .... my original message said:

Hi hun, sorry for the late reply. I hadn't quite made the post count to enable me to use the VM function.

I haven't really got into it yet, having only read a handful of pages . I'm currently unwell & finding it hard to try & read whilst feeling nauseated *quick pass me the sick bucket*. N what ever you do, don't mistake my sick bucket for your bucket of water, it really won't end well .

I'll have a read through your threads & I'll let you know how I get on with the Library of the Dead, but at this rate you will have finished it before I do!

This is my current status >>> :thud: lol.

I finished the Library of the Dead last night & as soon as I finished I popped online to order the 2nd book :D.
