  1. I may have bought all of Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet/Beyond the Frontier/Lost Stars books - barring the two I already had - for 99p each in the Kindle Autumn Sale. That was 12 books for the total of £11.88 Hard to pass that sort of offer by, even if I end up not liking them May also have got the second book in Mary Stewart's Arthurian Saga, The Hollow Hills, also for 99p
  2. I'm quite a fan of Robert Harris - haven't read a book of his yet that I haven't liked. Enigma is great, I must re-read it (and Fatherland) some time. In other news, all of Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet books (apart from the first one, bizarrely) are going for 99p in the Autumn sale.
  3. I think that's a problem with a lot of successful authors - the editors let them get away with murder. Not literally. I hope.
  4. Yeah, it was completely jarring and spoiled the ending somewhat.
  5. 4:45am Michelle?? Did Ellie give you a wake-up call?
  6. I haven't bought the paperbacks as yet, no - I'm waiting to see if I enjoy the next two books as much, and also if they have such brilliant illustrations inside, too
  7. Marvel's Agents of SHIELD 3x01 - great start to the season
  8. The Flash 2x01 Well blimey - the scene I saw being filmed when I was in Vancouver is the very first scene after the opening title of the ep Great start to the season. Oh man, Sisco cracks me up ETA:
  9. I noticed you're reading Eagle of the Ninth, Madeleine - I nearly started reading that myself earlier this week, so I'd be interested to hear what you make of it
  10. I started watching The Tunnel but must admit I didn't get far with it - I couldn't stop myself comparing Clémence Poésy to Sofia Helin, and the former just didn't match up for me. Although I get that she probably wasn't trying to
  11. Wouldn't surprise me if they stuck it on Sky Atlantic, just to spite those using Virgin etc.
  12. Have to say, this would annoy the hell out of me . . . Thanks - it was only 99p so worth a punt Yeah right
  13. ^^ Well that answers my question in the other thread
  14. I was agreeing with you, silly! My point was that the titles don't actually say they're about serpents or basilisks. One says The Tropic of Serpents, which to me implies a place, and the other is Voyage of the Basilisk, which implies the name of a ship or somesuch
  15. I probably would like it, yeah, thanks Curses. Nope, not even going to consider it
  16. The original Danish/Swedish version I hope! Can't wait for season 3 - starts next month on BBC 4
  17. I popped into my nearest library a few weeks back when I was on my way home from jury service. I was thinking of joining, but I wasn't overly impressed with the range of books they had
  18. I dread to think! I stopped counting at the end of last year Fortunately I can't see it on the Kindle
  19. I quite enjoyed Revival, but I thought the end was abysmal. Having said that, I've often thought King has had a problem coming up with good endings. ETA: with those I've read since IT at least
  20. Bet it gets cheaper after Christmas Less than a week to go! I'm wondering if Sky will do what they usually do with popular series and make the first episode(s) available on demand a few days early
