I do only read fantasy/horror books now. Once over it was just horror I did try other genre's but they dont engage me.
So pleased my blog is liked too, my crafting hobby probably had an influence on it being girlie
I don't keep a list of the books I read normally throughout the year, though I do keep a list of what I've read, just not when I read them
I'm such a card making addict that I manage my own group and I blog about it
Got into it over 5 years ago and it's been none stop since.
I've not got loads of crafting stuff, but I do have three little draw sets and a box full
Here's the link to my crafting blog, I chat about my charity cards on there as well -

This series was started about 5 years ago, and I feel other authors have read it and tried to copy the format
Not that I think they've achieved the same feel of this series, but I suppose thats an indication of how much fun this series is
I've just added a review for her first book on my blog too
I didnt realise she wrote under another name, hopefully I'll get to check those books out
here is a link to a description about A Madness of Angels

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book again, here is a link to my review -
http://croftfantasyreads.blogspot.com/2010/03/dead-witch-walking-kim-harrison.html
Im reading
The Good,The Bad and The Undead Kim Harrison
I'm very much not into gore either. Even in horror movies, I prefer disturbing to chain saw type movies
I don't mind a little bit of blood, because you expect that in horror. But when there is not story, what is the point, how is it scary
I got her first book
A Madness of Angels
And waiting for her next book to come out later this year
It's an unusual urban wizard story, that uses the city as a source of magic. I found it a little difficult to get into at first because it also deals with multiple personalities
But once I got use to that, I found the story quite enjoyable
I've an habit of following a few fantasy series
One of the problems I do have though. Is I may have read a first book through the library, liked it, then bought the rest. But not gotten around to getting book one!
I always mean to get these first books, because otherwise I wont re-read the series
I would like to re-read this series, but I dont have book 1 as I read that through a library run reading group. So I need to get book 1 before I could revisit this series.
Since I'm relatively new I will not bother mentioning what else I've read up to this point
Will start from now
March - Dead Witch Walking - Kim Harrison
Will post a link to a review when read
There are a few more authors I'd like to ask about please
I've not read anything by them and was considering their books
Michelle Sagara
Faith Hunter
Jenna Black
Aliette de Bodard
This author has two books out so far
Scar Night
Iron Angel
I quite enjoyed Scar Night, found it quite promising
However, Iron Angel didnt so much for me, I was quite disappointed this follow up book
Has anyone else discovered this author?
It always interests me when you have two people read the same book and see if differently
I much prefer Kim Harrison's writing style than Charlaine Harris. I find Harris' work entertaining, but I dont find them as involved or even as witty as Harrison's work.
I've started reading Dead Witch Walking and was instantly reminded why I like the Morgan character so much. Harrison has written her with a wise ass humour with I do enjoy. And she gets into so much trouble
Jenks also is one of my favourite characters, instantly you get his attitude and mischief
