  1. It costs 70p per book to reserve online at my local library, which did take me ages to find as when i typed in Salisbury Library it linked me to one in Australia, no wonder my online pin number didn't work..it took me ages to figure this out..doh!!
  2. it look like it doesn't it but don't worry I don't think its a real one.
  3. I am in my library every weekend I can and regularly take out 6-8 books I love it. The best job I ever did as a Saturday girl many moons ago was in a little library and if I hadn't chosen archaeology as a career I would have loved to have been a librarian.
  4. One of the things I also find wierd is when discussing books with people who have read the same thing is how they pronounce the names, especially true of fantasy books where the names are not common to us.. One of the hardest books for names i ever read was Anna Karenina, apart from not really enjoying the books the names were so long I got confused..
  5. I just looked it up 1985..I was probably to young at 13 to watch it and my sister even younger we must have sneaked it past the parents censors..lol
  6. My sister and I watched that mini series years ago when it was on tv and fell in love with the Swayze character..fond memories..when was it aired? I can't remember how old I was.
  7. Well I am looking forward to it no matter who, what or where its is based or set..can't wait..I made everyone shut up or leave the room on Christmas day to catch the last one and thank god I live alone to pursue this addiction in the future unspoilt by others chatting..
  8. I am glad you mentioned the 4th and 5th book i had given up on there being a 4th will now have a look for it as i have really enjoyed this series.

  14. I just finished a book called 'Flood' in the bath last night (it seemed apt) and felt very depressed by the end and not just because the bath water had gotten cold..
  15. I always find that using the moist, dank, dark crevice makes me laugh out loud, but i love it at work when people use the word linear to describe a ditch, instead of ditch, as a linear doesn't exist its a descriprion of the ditches shape.. someone once used the work 'spagettified' to describe a group of intercutting pits, not sure it exists as a word but it should
  16. I hate when i am stood in a big queue to pay for a book and the person in front of me wants to make a book enquiry...there is a seperate desk for this..or just ask one of the roving sales staff..
  17. Any advert for insurance, they are annoying, patronising and usually have characters i wouldn't let near my house let alone sell me insurance..oh and all the furniture shop adverts particularly annoying in the sales..THE SALES LAST ALL YEAR IN THESE PLACES!!!!!!!

  19. Well let me know if they do get any better I think i made it as far as number 10 but I know there may have been a couple after that by now..
  20. I am glad someone else enjoyed district 9 and also that it has some nominations as i think it was a great depiction of how humanity treats each other from apartheid and immigration points of view and that being different means you lose your humanity, it was more than a film about aliens landing on earth...really want to see Hurt Locker as loads of people have said how good it is.
