  1. I was down in Surrey, on business for Lord Cromwell's office, when the summons came. Dissolution - C. J. Sansom
  2. I think that link is just meant to give a pointer as to a particular part of the scene with Martin and Blomkvist in the basement, which is featured in the book but not the film!

  4. I'll be watching this tonight mainly due to OH - he loves the comics and is sooo excited. I've had enough zombies to last me a lifetime though (what with his myriad of zombie computer games too), so I'm a bit dubious!
  5. Another Mike Leigh fan over here! *waves* I love Secrets and Lies especially. My local cinema isn't showing Another Year (surprise surprise) so I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD. Peace, Four Lions is a satire about terrorism. It's made by Chris Morris, the guy who did Brass Eye.
  6. Four Lions although I fell asleep during the last half hour. This is by no means a reflection on the film, I was just warm and sleepy Before that it was The Social Network, which I though was rather brilliant.
  7. I'd have to agree with you, Kylie. I started off really enjoying it but then found it quite a slog. I'd also say that a big part of the problem was the writing style. It seemed very...simple, too simple as in quite amateurish. I found it very hard to get along with and struggled to finish it. I could appreciate the overall story though
  8. Ah that's interesting, pickle! I wonder what they'll decide. I picked up the second and third book yesterday as I found them on offer. I did read that one quite quickly, peace. This week though I've read about 40 pages in total! It's not lame, just finding the time! Oh an I am reading the Secret History, by the way
  9. Thelma & Louise. Excellent ending!
  10. Before Sunset. I preferred this to the first one, Before Sunrise.
  11. I watched Whatever Works. A Woody Allen film starring Larry David, what more could you ask for?! Really enjoyable.
  12. That's such a shame that Larsson didn't get to enjoy all his success, and a shame that we won't be able to enjoy any more of his work! I finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last night, I loved it! How're you getting on with it Peace? I'm going to need to acquire the next two books ASAP Not sure what to read now. The third Dexter book, Dissolution by C J Sansom, Middlesex or The Secret History?!
  13. I'm now reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and yesterday I picked up these beauties from the charity shop: Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides Lorna Doone - R.D. Blackmore Mary Anne - Daphne Du Maurier I also must tell you that OH and I released our first five Book Crossing books into the wild in July and heard nothing back, until today when someone registered it! They had been over here on holiday and found Clockwork Orange. They said they weren't much of a reader but gave it a read anyway and have taken it back to Australia for release again! Kylie and frankie - keep an eye out!
  14. Glad to hear great things about Middlesex, I only picked it up because I remembered many a BCF'er raving about it I can't wait to start it now. I'mRose - I was a bit dubious about TGWTDT due to so many people saying it took ages to get into, but like you say it seems as though it's worth it! By the way, was I the only person who didn't realise that Stieg Larsson is deceased? I had no idea. Peace! I hope we like it too! I'm only on page 17 but hoping to get more read tonight. How're you finding it?
