  1. OK, I don't know many English speaking narrators. But I love Stephen Fry (I love his Harry Potter audio books and can't stand the famous German ones read by Rufus Beck. Rufus Beck is one of the most famous German narrators but after listening to Stephen Fry I cannot understand that!) And lately I discovered David Ledoux. I love him reading Maggie Stiefvaters Sam to me!
  2. I just finished reading his second book. I really loved the first one and I liked the second one. But I think it's not as good as the first one. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to book three and I am really fascinated by Flavia (thought about writing I like her, but actually, Flavia is not the sweet kind of girl you actually like ).

Nerve-racking? You're right. I'm really nervous, I don't really now what will come in my future (I will start furhter education) and there is such a lot to organize. But you are right, it's also a great chance, an exciting time where so many new and nice thinks can happen, there is such a lot to discover...

Hi Mac, thx for asking. Yes, indeed, I'm very well. Just a lot to organize because I'm moving to a new town in a few weeks.

Hope you are fine as well!

  5. Don't know if it's really what you are looking for, but last year I read "Still Alice" from Lisa Genova, a really fascinating book about Alzheimer's Disease.
  6. One year ago I found this wonderful place and I just want to say thank you to all of you! You are great!
  7. Just finished book 101 so something like 10 books a month. Well, some month I only read like 6 books but than there were other month with 15 books
  8. I listened to the German audio-book of Shiver last month and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I decided I can't wait for Linger coming out in Germany next summer or fall. So at the moment I am waiting for the English audio-book of Linger And I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet Maggie during her European book tour. She is such a nice and funny person!
  9. I really love the "Someday Quilt Mysteries" by Clare O'Donohue. 1. The Llover's Knot (2008) 2. A Drunkhard's Path (2009) 3. The Double Cross (2010)
  10. Thx for the birthday wishes!

  11. I'm sure, I will never get my money's worth out of it But I really really like it so it doesn't really matter for me. And a friend of mine bought it for me while she was in the US where the cricut is a lot less expensive than it is in Germany.
  12. I'm not really addicted and I don't make it as often as I should, but I think it is fun and so I bought a cricut some years ago. I really really love my cricut (even as I rarely use it) and have different cartridges for Christmas, animals, summer...

Yes, I am fine, thank you. And thanks for the friends-request :)

  14. Are here any fans of Sandra Hill? I just discovered her two weeks ago. I have read the first two books of her Jinx trilogy so far and I am reading the third one at the moment. And I am totally enjoying the books. They are so funny and every time I start reading I am feeling totally happy and relaxed. The books are about a group of treasure hunters. Every book tells the story of another team member. And in every book, the real heroine is Tante Lulu, a woman about 90 who is a matchmaker. She is a great believer in St. Jude, the goddess of the hopeless, she believes in thunderbolts of love, is wild and funny and absolutely loveable. I will read all the other books with Tante Lulu for sure. So any fans here of Tante Lulu, the LeDeux and the Jinx, inc. treasure hunt company? If you are not a fan, check the books out. More informations can be find at Sandra Hills homepage
  15. Yes, the standalone books are great. My all time favourite is "Can you keep a secret?". It's so funny!
  16. I won't read it. I read the other books but I decided I won't read more about Becky. I can*t stand her any more because there is so absolutely no progress in her personality. She is just the same as in book 1, buying more than she can afford. It was fun in the first book and in the second and third, but after that I thought she must have learned something. So no, I won't read about her buying things for her baby. But for those of you who will read it: Hope you enjoy the book!
  17. Welcome to this forum, Stefan. Hope you have a lot of fun here!
  18. Oh, and for the 90s: DJ Bobo - There is a party
  19. How about "New Kids on the Block"?
  20. I am just curious if you know Jim Button by Michael Ende. The little Jim and his friend Luke the Engine Driver are very famous in Germany. Almost every child knew them. I myself love him but must admit, I don't really know the books about Jim but the television version from the Augsburger Puppenkiste (which is a famous marionette theatre). If you wonder why I ask now: Well, tomorrow is a big day for Jim, it's his 50th birthday!
  21. Was nice to chat with you :)

    Have to do it again!

  22. I haven't been to musicals often, but I really like them. So far, I have been to The Lion King, Dirty Dancing and Wicked. I really loved Wicked and I would love to see it in english!
  23. Welcome to this great forum!
  24. Just wondering if there are other fans of Hex Hall here? I read this book a week ago and I am totally in love with it. It's just fantastic. From the first page I liked Sophie, a very sarcastic girl. Her life isn't easy because she is a witch but she has grown up with her human mother and without knowledge of the world of the witches. So starting at Hex Hall isn't easy for her. All the people there knows more about witches and shapeshifter and theit powers. The whole book is really lovely. It is funny, interesting, with a bit of love and with an adventure. And the whole time reading it I had a warm feeling and was reminded of Enid Blytons school stories. Now I am waiting for march and the second book in the series. So looking forward to read more about Sophie and her friends!
