  1. I've only read Rebecca - but seeing all the praise for her work on this thread, I will definitely check out her other novels.
  2. Hi Catwoman.

I'm good. Hope your well too?. You mentioned that you had Friend of the Devil on your TBR pile; I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed it. I haven't written a review because I'm not really good at that sort of thing but I will say that it's fast-paced, has nice twists and turns and the lead characters are likeable and believable even if they do have their faults. I also like Alan Banks's taste in music :)). Hope that helps! :)

  3. Thanks for accepting Talisman :)

  4. Hi Charm. Thanks for accepting. I thought it would be nice to be friends:). By the way, I checked out your house pics - your house is beautiful!

  5. I had a crush on him too, Peacefield - the hunky Geraint Wyn Davies was the main reason I watched!
  6. Hey NovaLee. I haven't "seen" you in a bit. Hope all is well.:)

  7. Happy Birthday Sue!:)

  8. Vegetarian Lasagna:)
  9. I saw the first episode of The Vampire Diaries and liked it but forgot to watch it last week.... Forever Knight - Oh my goodness that takes me back. I think it was set in Toronto. It was really quite fun. I also liked Moonlight - too bad it was canceled.
  10. I finished Friend of the Devil by Peter Robinson last night - it was a good read with lots of twists and turns. I'm reading Empire Falls by Richard Russo next.
  11. I love music as much as I love books and I listen to all types...but especially love jazz, rock and classical. My favorites jazz artists are Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, Bireli Lagrene, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane and Angelo Debarre & Ludovic Beier. I love the works of classical composers Bach, Beethoven, Paganini and Sarasate. I also listen to rock - faves include Boston, Queen, Tragically Hip, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and tons more....
  12. Hi Eileen. Welcome to the forum! A world cruise sounds fascinating. Lucky you!
  13. I buy most of my books from Amazon.ca and pay by credit card. I haven't had a problem so far. I also occasionally buy from Chapters.ca and I suppose you can buy gift cards at the Chapters stores and redeem them online.....but only useful if you live in Canada.
  14. The Jeeves and Wooster books by P.G. Wodehouse are great fun, especially Right Ho, Jeeves and The Inimitable Jeeves. The Blandings Castle stories are hilarious too!
  15. I think I was 10 or 11 when I bought ABBA - Greatest Hits:)
  16. Thanks, MuggleMagic!
  17. I saw this show last week and I really liked it. I missed the Oceanic billboard though...which is surprising, since I'm such a Lost fanatic.
  18. The Jane Austen Book Club - I didn't like the book much . I just couldn't warm up to the characters - they seemed flat. I did like the movie though.
  19. I enjoyed reading Misty of Chincoteague when I was a child.
  20. Tomato soup with toasted cheese sandwiches.
  21. I read Russka when it first came out but I'm afraid I plodded through most of it - multi-generational historical novels are not my favorite genre. I haven't read any other Rutherford books but I've read reviews that suggest that Sarum: The Novel of England is a better book. Have you read it Katrina?
  22. Well I'm looking forward to your review so I hope you stick with it! There's a Lost Mojo Support Group in the general book discussions thread - that might help.
  23. I'm almost halfway through Friend of the Devil by Peter Robinson. I haven't been able to put this one down!
  24. Hi NovaLee. Thanks for the friend request. Love your new avatar!:)
