  1. Are you a fan of the classics, Michelle? iTunes has them for very cheap (under 5.00 US) or even free. I guess I don't know if it would be the same from the US to the UK, but there are some done by the University of Florida (I believe, don't quote me 100% on that) and they have a very sizeable list of classics that are completely free to download. Hope you're enjoying Wicked
  2. Triceratops Dinosaurs or Aliens
  3. How are you lovely ladies doing this morning? Or, I guess night and afternoon in your particular corners of the world. The Polysyllibic Spree does look very interesting, how far are you frankie? So far I have ratings from: myself, frankie, Ooshie, Lucybird, Kate, and Kylie. Can you guys think of anyone we may be missing and if so should we just patiently wait or send them a little PM or something in case they miss our little conversation about the ratings? I'll post the averages in a bit if that sounds good with everyone and we have everyone who has/wants to participate in this little thing. Aw shucks, thanks frankie
  4. Exactly! That sounds like an excellent plan. They all really do go hand in hand, don't they? Body, mind, and soul. If one is off it just seems to throw the others off too. I've lost another 4 lbs this last week and am feeling pretty good in that respect. Tomorrow I plan on starting a routine of going to the gym so that I can start toning things up a bit.
  5. Sounds like everyone is doing really well lately. I'm excited to hear how your Zumba class goes, Kimmy Reading is mind exercise, frankie. Technically you still got a workout in
  6. I love frankie's rubber ducky one
  7. Probably a bit weird, but I love cloudy skies. Its fun and relaxing to watch the clouds move, especially in thunderstorms. Sleep on your belly or your back
  8. Isn't it? I'd forgotten how good it was!
  9. I hope you enjoy it! Going into a book like Wicked without any preconcieved notions about the Wicked Witch and Oz is really best if the reader is really to get the most out of the story. I've noticed that people who are hoping to get an extention of The Wizard of Oz rather than experience a whole new world are the ones who are disappointed with it.
  10. Cooking Spend an evening with J.K. Rowling or J.R.R. Tolkien
  11. Ocean Comedy or Drama
  12. Read the first 8 chapters of Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast today and am hoping to finish it tomorrow.
  13. Would you mind if I joined in? I've never read it but picked it up (and put it back down) at the book store yesterday. It looks like a good read.
  14. Artist Collection: Muse's greatest performances
  15. Post 'em here it is then If you want I can tally them all up and put the ratings after the books on the new post created on the first page. What do you think? We can just do a rating of 1-5, it'll be easier to tally up. My ratings are: - Gone with the Wind n/a - Wuthering Heights by Emily Bront 5/5 - The Crimson Petal and the White n/a - Wicked 4/5 (Aw, I've only read half of them? I'm such a bad Roryite )
  16. There is a way to add a poll to the thread, but I'm not sure how we would go about adding multiple polls or if we even could do that. We could open up a thread for each book (4 total) and then ask the mods to delete them afterwards or we could just ask everyone to PM us with their rating if they wish to. I guess there are a couple of options, maybe we should vote on them.
  17. Awesomness! I just posted the new list on the first page. What would you all think about doing a poll regarding how all of us rate the book as a whole? I think it would be rather interesting to see an average of what everyone thought.
  18. *Whips out metaphorical sparkly list making pens* I'm on it For I'll post it just under the master lists which (if I remember correctly) Is about 3-4 posts long, if that sounds okay.
  19. Haha, BCF has been a bit... suggestive towards my TBR pile too! Alas, it is a good problem to have in the end. Its a bit ironic to be reading a book about 'struggling with the monthly tide of books (he's) bought and the books (he's) been meaning to read.' It looks really interesting. Do you read a lot in Finnish or do you usually try to stick to English works? And if you do read a lot of Finnish is there a good selection of works that have been translated into it? I've probably asked you this before, sorry if I had.
  20. That's a really great idea, Frankie! Do you want me to go back and modify the first post or should was ask the mods to add a new one?
  21. Wow, 290 TBR? That's an impressive mount, frankie! You can do it, you are one of the fastest readers I know. Still 7 whole months of the year to go. I picked up the Hornby book last night and am ready to start whenever. It looks really interesting but is a bit different from what I had anticipated. The whole thing is basically in the form of an essay, right? Are you much of an essay fan?
  22. I third! It doesn't hurt to think about future reads. There's still plenty of time left to finish, but its good to plan ahead for those who plan to get the book from the library or something so they can reserve it if its out ATM.
  23. Thanks for those links, Kylie and Chesilbeach I'm going to go through and make some notes on them hopefully tomorrow. Made a trip to the book store a bit ago and came home with: The Polysyllabic Spree by Nick Hornby and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Tonight I plan to start reading Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast. Hopefully I'll finish it by tomorrow or Friday. All of the previous House of Night books have been pretty quick reads so I'm hoping this one is, too.
