  1. I have had this book on my list for years but it never seems to end up in my basket when I go shopping. I think I will make it a point to buy it and start it this weekend.
  2. Thanks peacefield, you made me laugh with this one!
  3. People who speed up to pass you on the road and then slow down once they get in front of you!
  4. And that is why you always wash your produce before you eat it... yesh... It's bad enough seeing someone sneeze and then grab an apple and put it back, but the employees? That's just awful.
  5. That's awful!! I'm glad your sister went after her!
  6. That's a great list Echo. I second everything on it, especially the animal abuse. We just had 192 dogs rescued in our town from a single home puppy mill. It has been all over the news for days and believe it or not it is NOT a felony! It is driving me nuts that these people aren't going to get complete justice for what they did.
  7. Pizza Ranch chicken fries and mashed potatos with gravy.
  8. You'll have to let me know how you like it.
  9. I finished another Stephanie Plum novel today (Twelve Sharp). It is definately my favorite (so far) in the series. A while ago I purchaced Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov but just kept putting off reading. For one of my Lit classes in college we had to read a book called Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi. Ever since reading that very moving memoir I have been wanting to read Nabokov. Reading Lolita in Tehran dosn't have much to do with Nabokov's book aside from the namesake but it is a very powerful and disturbingly real account of women in one of the most oppressed countries in the world. If you haven't read it please put it on your list. It is one of the books that changed my life and made me appreciate my freedoms as an American woman in today's world.
  10. Ugh! It is so tempting to just get a house to get away from them, isn't it?
  11. Maybe you're better off just coming over here on a shopping spree! It could be fun hitting up all the best book shops and stuff!
  12. People who live on the floor above me who stomp around like they are elephants in a circus.
  13. If you like Jane Austen her leatherbound complete works is absolutely beautiful! I own that one and the complete works of Shakespeare and am very happy with them!
  14. If it helps, the leatherbound classics are all buy one get the second for 10.00 (U.S. sorry, I don't know the Euros conversion). With the 10.00 you save from the second one it can pretty much make you break even for the shipping. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbninquiry.asp?r=1&EAN=9781435110304
  15. You are mean. I could really go for coffee and an almond biscotti right now.
  16. Thanks, I will have to try it. I have Raid and I spray that around my windows and doors every few weeks since I live on a ground floor apartment and tend to get creepy crawlies often. I don't mind the other ones but spiders make me want to peel a layer of skin off and shower for 24 hrs straight! I will check out the eucalyptus! If that dosn't work I will move to the Northern most reaches of Canada where it never gets above 40 degrees and pray spiders don't like snow.
  17. BUGS bug me. I just got done battling a majorly huge giant spider in my kitchen and am now cowering in the fetal positon in on the couch. Anyone have any ways of keeping them away? I spray my apartment regularly but somehow this beast still made it in leaving me paranoid and checking every little movement. *shudder*
  18. Don't resist, dig in! I just started number 12 today and they are so great! The first book is still my favorite out of the series but each one is different with good pace and more laughs than I have ever gotten out of a book series! You will love them (Grandma Mazur is my favorite character. She is hillarious!)
  19. Mister B. Gone is going rather slowly. Since I can only read before bed and I tend to dream about the books I read (weird... yes, I know) reading a thriller isn't exactly the best thing. Hopefully I will spend some more time on it this weekend since it is a holiday. I did, however, finish the 3rd book in Melissa de la Cruz's Blue Bloods series (Revelations). I am addicted and cannot wait until October when the 4th book (The Van Alen Legacy... yes, I have pre-ordered it already) comes out. It is one of the most creative vampire series out there and de la Cruz blends traditional vampire myth into upscale New York society better than anyone else could ever hope to! I have pulled up Google several times just to check out some of the refrences to history/geography she has made... aka, I am learning as well as being entertained What more could you want from a book?
  20. It is! We usually take one with us camping or for a holiday breakfast.
  21. Haha, it is kind of like cinnamon rolls except instead of the 'roll' part you break the dough off into little one inch pieces and them in cinnamon and then stick them all into one big glob and bake them. When it comes out of the oven drizzle frosting all over the glob and then you can just pull the little one inch balls off and eat them. You can also do caramel 'balls' if you like caramel rolls better.
  22. Cinnamon monkey bread with a glass of milk. Yum!
  23. It's technially not a 'meal' but I could eat an entire batch of cinnamon monkey bread as a meal. That stuff is the best!
  24. T-bone steaks, scalloped potatoes and cole slaw.
