  1. That's a beautiful pic Echo. I worked at Barnes and Noble last year the day after Thanksgiving and let me tell you- NEVER AGAIN! We didn't have any major sales that people waited out in the cold for hours for like Best Buy and Target, but we did a pretty good amout of business! I too will be sitting it out but I hear Target has a 32 in flat screen tv for only 250.00!!!
  2. Our Thanksgiving is always interesting since my step-mom is a vegetarian. This year she actually bought a live turkey and paid board it at a farm where it can live until it dies from old age. That is her way of celebrating the holiday. I am cooking for the first time tomorrow and am making garlic mashed potatos, scalloped corn, green bean casserole, veggie stuffing, tomato soup, a small ham for my dad and me, pumpkin and apple pies and homemade whipped cream. It should be a nice holiday. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!
  3. I was in a Christmas mood today so I watched Holiday Inn and White Christmas. I'm debating whether or not to put in Elf right now.
  4. My weekend has been great! Thanksgiving is Thursday so I've been cleaning and getting ready for family to come :) How about you?

  5. I'm doing well today! Planning on baking some chocolate chip cookies and watching some of my favorite Christmas movies while I put up my tree :) How are you doing?

  6. I completely agree. The best part of the movie is that it made me want to go read the book! This is one of my favorite books. It is so hard to find a beautifully written unique romance like this. I think why I like it so much is because it dosn't remind me of any other book out there. It is completely it's own (or at least compared to what I have read. ) Though I cried through most of the book, my favorite scene was her birthday.
  7. Oh geez!! Hopefully he has turned himself around. Lucybird, that is so sweet that you feel in love with your boyfriend right from the start. I love love stories like that.
  8. Boys are such brats at that age. (Well, some never grow out of it ) That sucks that he got you in trouble! Did you ever get him back?
  9. Hey Ben! I just wanted to tell you that I love your avatar! :)

  10. Ah! I would have cried! When I was about 6 my cousin Travis, who is 2 years older than me, told me that lady bugs are poisonous. I (of course) believed him. Later that day he brought me an old butter container and told me there was a present inside for me. I opened it to discover about 60+ lady bugs. They all scuttled out of the bucket and were on my clothes and arms and hair. I (thinking they were poisonous) screamed bloody murder and cried. He had collected them from our corn field earlier that day. I guess it's better than a tub of spiders or something... I still freak whenever I see one though.
  11. Only in the midwest 1. Everyone I know including some of my family is convinced my real first name is Abigail (it is not, it is just plain Abby) and insist on calling me that no matter how many times I have corrected them. 2. When I was in school I was known for being the best soccer player in my division but gave it up because my mom hated going to my games. 3. I have 1 tattoo that I got a little over a year ago that I drew myself. It is a Celtic knot with a lily woven through it. None of my grandparents know I have it. 4. I am the only one with green eyes in my entire family line. 5. I'm petrified of lady bugs.
  12. Haha, you are far from an ignoramus! Many Americans have forgotten why it started.

The celebration originated in Plymouth, Massachusetts after the Pilgrims survived a very hard winter. It was to give thanks to God for bringing them through and for the Native Americans help. Today we usually celebrate by getting together with family to eat a huge meal (and give thanks for our blessings throughtout the year) and watch (American) Football.

  13. Hey Mac! I've been doing well lately. :) Thanksgiving is next week so I only have a 3 day work week and I'm really looking forward to it.

    How are you doing?

  14. Glad to know I'm not the only one! I love Eric. At first I couldn't wait for him to dissappear from the series but the pink spandex scene (I don't remember which book it was) turned me
  15. I've recently picked up A Touch of Dead and to be honest, am a bit dissappointed by it. A lot of the details don't mesh with what I remember in the books, like when she first met Mr. Cataludese (sorry, I know it is spelled wrong). Maybe I'm off because it has been a few months since I've read one of the full length novels, but it just seems a bit sloppy to me in comparison to the books. Has anyone else read it yet?
  16. 1. Reading Lolita in Tehran- Azar Nafisi 2. My Sister's Keeper- Jodi Picoult 3. Dracula- Bram Stoker 4. Harry Potter- J.K. Rowling 5. P.S. I Love You- Cecelia Ahren (the movie dosn't even begin to compare to the book!)
  17. There is a wonderful mystery/romantic comedy series out called the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. There are 16 books in the series so far (and more to come). I highly reccomend them! Everyone I know who has read it is addicted.
  18. Speaking of hair, how much do you think Jacob's wig cost? It looks like they just chopped a poor pony's tail off and glued it together.
  19. That is terrible! I can't imagine the kind of people who think that kind of thing is okay.
  20. People who let their pet (dogs) do their 'business' in YOUR yard and then don't clean it up!
  21. I just read an article that interviewed a few of the cast and they were saying that the 3rd film, Eclipse, is going to be much darker than the first two. They compared it to going from the first Harry Potter movie to the fifth. Less than 2 months now until New Moon!
