  1. I haven't read anything in three weeks! Nothing, not a page. Yikes! I hope I get to do some serious reading soon.
  2. Hey Funkmaster!

I've not been too well of late, and just been looking after myself and spending times with my kids. Hopefully will be back on here loads soon and pestering you, hehe.

How are you? I hope you are well

  3. I got another hundred pages read of The Executioner by Chris Carter. really getting into it and I am finding it difficult to put it down. It was the village book sale today and I actually didin't find alot. I did pick up James Rollins - Black Order and Laurell K Hamilton Micah. Both at 50p I also picked up some books for the kids.
  4. Glad to hear Codex was OK Noll. Was able to drag myself to my library book club and I'm glad I did. Had a great time in the end and I got this months book read The Best of Men by Claire Letemendia. Looks like a really good Historical novel. Looking forward to reading it. *Edit* I forgot I also picked up my reservation of The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud.
  5. Ok so I am starting early on my Xmas shopping and my 8 year old has been constantly going on about the new crazy of books for primary kids. It's called The Beast Quest series, by Adam Blade. I saw them up Tescos the other week and my son seemed messmerised. I am planning on getting some of them tonight, I looked online and they do seem to have some sort of order, and of different series. Now the question. Does anyone know/ read them if I have to get them in order or can I buy anyone and can read it as a stand alone? Also are these books good?
  6. Thanks for the great review and that has helped me in deciding wether of not to get this book for Xmas for my son. I read him the Percy Jackson series (we will be reading book 3 soon) and I was told by a friend of mine that this book is a lot more complex and maybe a bit too much for my son. I think I might hold back for a while and get him other books instead. Thanks Michelle.
  7. Oh I remember being lie that. A panic in getting everything ready again. Haha.

  8. Thanks mate. I did enjoy In Silence, and I see what you means about it beening like Slaughter, the way she molds the characters arevery much like her. Loved the ending. Even though you could have figured out some parts, there is no way you could have got al of the ending. I actually laughed at one point, pure genius! I am now reading The executioner by Chris Carter. This was reserved at my local library and as my mojo is good but can be easly lead away, I have decided to stick with the crime genre. It seems to be working. I have only read 20 pages but itis already gripping me. I really do recomend this author to people who love serial killer detective novels. Especially Chrissy, Charm and Mac. Very Jack Kerely and Jonathan Nasaw.
  9. Uprising is a great song. My son loves that tune too. Plymouth are a pile of **** at the moment. We started so well and now we just can't get goals in, which is the annoying thing because Reid bought everything but strikers we needed strikers last year too. I think we will stay up but just by the scruff of our necks.

I'm ok thanks mate. Any plans for the week?

  10. Boo-Yaka-Sha!

    Yo! How ae you doin'?

Just thought I would say hi. Not really spoke to you in aaaaaaages! Anyway I hope you are well and we can talk TNA soon.

  13. Hope you like Faithless, even though I found it a great book (I love all of Slaughter's books) I didn't think it was one of her best. Look forward to reading what you think. I want to work there. remember your best friend in england abs if you need to pass on your books!!! *Wink wink* Thats good to know about Dexter, I have not rushed out to get it as I found the series IMO to be a bit hit or miss. Great haul I'm lucky the charity shops in my village are awesome and I pick up some great littel finds of books that I Have on my wishlist. I am looking for City of Bones as they don't haveit in my library. As for me I went to my chairty shop yesterday and I picked up the following books for 50p each: New Moon - Stephanie Meyer (not in great condition but I want one to keep re-reading and I don't mind if I get damaged. The Tiger Warrior - David Gibbons ( I have Atlantis on my TBR pile so thought I would grab this.) 2012 the crystal skull - Manda Scott (I thought this was a following of the Crystal skull that I have on my TBR pile. But when I got it home, it is exactly the same book. Why on earth put 2012 on it and totally change the cover! Urgh!!! It's on mint condition so obviously someone thought the same as me and bought it and realised it is a re-release! I also got (even though it is not book related) Back to the future trilogy boxset is awesome condition and BRAND NEW!!! and still sealed The Sopranos series three DVD both for £3.95!! As for my reading activity, I have been ill of late so not done much reading, but I have 70 pages to go of In Silence and hope to finish it by tonight. not sure what my next book will be as I have my library book club on Thursday night and will get a book then, so I have to read sometin kinda quick.

  19. About 150 pages into In silence by Erica Spindler. I'm liking it. I am able to put it down easy enough. I was wondering when a murder was going to happen. But So far so good.
  20. YOu know me so well. thank you for giving me the chance to read it. I am so glad you like it. I will bump it up the pile now. The blurb sounded so interesting.
