  1. I read on the MSN homepage that the people behind the Breaking Dawn Movies are contemplating on whether to do it 3-D. However much I would love to see Edward's sparklies unclose and personal. I don't think I want it 3-D I have not watched a film in 3-D but last time I did at home (spy kids) it made my eyes hurt and I had enough of like someone else saidkeeping the glasses on.

  2. Last film I watched was fantastic four (The first one) with my oldest last night. It has Michael Chicklis (the guy from the Shield) so no complaints from me :D

I also watched New Moon with my best mate. Oh how I love the end... mmmmm Sparkly stomach

  3. I'm off to see Inception tomorrow  can't wait! I'm also seeing Predators but I refuse to get my hopes up after the rubbish that was churned out for the AVP films lol.

I have seen loads of tweets about Inception on twitter. I know nothing about this film.

As for me well I have seen Eclipse. :D and I m seeing Toy story 3 with my kids next weekend.so as far as I know they are the only ones I am/ was dying to see.

Oh my I forgot that I still have not seen the girl with the dragon tattoo. It willl be on my Xmas list this year!

  4. I have seen other in the city near I live and I want one bad.

As for the kids summer book track. Thats the one. Did your kids do last years? My boys loved that one because it involved Drangons and Magicians:lol:

As for reading. The kids have been little angels and as I have not been well I have sat on the couch reading the rest of Skulduggery. Still a great read and only 70 pages to go. Horray! Mojo is back! :D

  5. Book #21: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters - Rick Riodan

You can't tell by looking at me that my dad is Poseidon, God of the Sea. It's not easy being a half-blood these days. You mortals can't even see the monsters we have to fight all the time. So when a game of dodgeball turned into a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants, I couldn't exactly ask my gym teacher for help. And that was just for starters. This is the one where Camp Half Blood is under attack, and unless I get my hands on the Golden Fleece, the whole camp will be invaded by monsters. Big ones. Can Percy survive the treacherous Sea of Monsters and restore order to Half-Blood Hill?

Ok so this is the secons in the Percy Jackson series, and continues from where we left off in the first book. Percy has spent the summer trying to live a'normal' life until he goes back to Camp Half-Blood. I settle right back into the series, I really did enjoy it. You have the same characters, along with some new one. One new character I utterly adored and I hope he is able to come back for the next book.

These is great for kids, and I have been reading them along with my son, after reading them myself. We love them so much that we have bought the first three of the collection and are looking to get the rest.

  6. Went to the library this morning so the children could sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge.

Is that the Space Summer challange? My local library is not signing people up until Monday.

Also I want one of those bags. Ihave seen a few people with them, I must ask if i can get them online as my library does nto stock them.

  7. Ok so I finished Percy Jackson and the sea of Monsters and I started Skullduggery Plesant. already 170 pages in and loving it. Great little read. I am going to be in hospital next week so I should get loads of reading done. My Library book club is Jasper Ffordes The Eyre Affair. Which is great because I had this on my TBR pile and have wanted to read it for a while.

  8. As Simon Cowell would say "No one had that X facotr"

I found none of the 'star players' played like they should, and I didn't seem to find many amazing moves, goals or moments. I was travelling back from Bristol so I never caught the match but heard that Holland played dirty.

  9. Book #19: The preacher by Camilla Lackberg

For the first time in English, the second psychological thriller from No 1 bestselling Swedish crime sensation Camilla Lackberg. In the fishing community of Fjallbacka, life is remote, peaceful -- and for some, tragically short. Foul play was always suspected in the disappearance twenty years ago of two young holidaymakers in the area. Now a young boy out playing has confirmed this grim truth. Their remains, discovered with those of a fresh victim, send the town into shock. Local detective Patrik Hedstrom, expecting a baby with his girlfriend Erica, can only imagine what it is like to lose a child. When a second young girl goes missing, Hedstrom's attention focuses on the Hults, a feuding clan of misfits, relgious fanatics and criminals. The suspect list is long but time is short -- which of this family's dark secrets will provide the vital clue?

I picked this book up as I had to read something for my first book club from the new arrivals shelf.I saw this and as I love Larsson, and this a well known scandinavian author thought I would give it ago,

Ok so this is set in Sweden, and has to do with a hidden family secret. Other than that there are NO other comparisons to the girl with/who series by Stieg Larsson.

The style of writing is totally different and so are the characters. Lackberg is not as detailed as larsson, which in some respects is a good thing. It starts off jumping straight in, and I like that. I was not bored at any point yet at the same time it is not a book that I would say is at my top ten but I would look out for her again.

If you like authors like Val McDermid, Karin Slaughter, then I would recommend to read this book.

    7.5/10

  10. Book #18: Percy Jackson and the Lightening thief

Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek god. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea..

Ok this is a YA book. I got thhis out from the library as my oldest wanted to watch the film. I LOVED IT!!! I have been busy and did not have much time to read it in a long sitting I wish I had!It was just great in everyway! I loved going back to my childhood and reliing all the old Greek lessons about Greek Mythology and how the author has related it to modern times.

i have read this to my son now (I bought the series) and he loves it. He can relate to Percy as he had ADHD and dyslexia and they go into why Percy has these things wrong with him (It helps him fight and learn Greek ancient Greek better)

    Quick paced and awesome characters!!!

  11. I had my library book club tonight too! Nearly everyone liked The Outcast and it provoked a good discussion. We've been given Fear of Flying by Erica Jong for next month (and one other which we actually read last year so I won't be reading again).

Meanwhile, I've been back in the supernatural, and reading the next Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter book, Burnt Offerings.

Oh i am glad you had a good book club meet. It was my first one and it was hard to talk about a book that only had a week to read and I never finished. Also everyone had different books as the chosen book apparently was really bad and no one finished it. Everyone was friendly...and I got a free cup of coffee!!!!! So I eagerly await the next one.

As for me I read another 20 pages of The Preacher last night. Unfortunately Due to the football I am not reading too much at the moment, and of course with it being England tonight, I don't think much will read tonight. Hopefully during the weekend I will have time for a read when I take the kids down the park.

  12. So I went to my library book club and it was really interesting. I failed to finish The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg. But got over half way and is pretty good so far.

This months book read for the club is Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka. not my sort of thing but we shall see.

I also picked up in the YA secton a book called The Medici Seal, does not seem like a YA book but looks interesting.

The book club has seemed to get my mojo back so we shall see how much reading I get done!

  13. Oh c'mooooon!!! That's not fair!!!!!! Now I don't know whether you're pulling my leg and just spoiler-tagging something like "I knew you couldn't resist!" and "you naughty girl, read the book!!!" and "get the book right now or I'll kickban you from the forum!!". Or whether you have real deals hidden there. Ah man!! CW, help me out a little, Chrissy's teasing me!

sorry for the late reply Frankie. It say that I had viewed my thread and no no posts were made. But I really had not!

Anyway yes you have to read the book because what Chrissy said was right

    *High five to Chrissy!*

And peeps feel fre to go off topic anytime you want on my thread.

@Willoyd. I don't thin my mojo has recovered from that book. I think i was epxecting it to be so good yet just utterly dissapointed me. If I had no expectations I don't think my review would have been so bad. Maybe on hinesight I was a little OTT :)

  14. My mojo has come back but not enough. I have to finish The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg by 6 o clock for my first library book club meet. I don't want to look a Wally and not have anything to talk about.

As for the book. Well it is reading well. Nothing like I expected. I was thinking far too much into thinking it was be abother Steig Larsson kind of book because of the Scandinavian connection, burt I would say it is more like a val McDermid/ Jack Kerley kind of crime book. Enjoyable so far. But I really do need to finish it today. Wish me luck!

  15. So I went to the library the other day, as I really did not know what book to read for my first library book club meet on Thursday.

I went to the library and looked at the new arrivals and I saw the book The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg.

I have read fifty pages and it is good so far. Apparently this is suppose to be a top class Scandinavian Crime writer, so I thought because of my love for Larrson I could compare the two and I would have something to talk about.

The writing styles are totally different.

but like I said before really enjoying it.
