  1. I have been thinking the exact same thing Raven - it's not looking good! I really really hope tonights episode is not the last . Torchwood is brilliant and I'm a big fan.
  2. I have only really watched one of the Star Wars films so I'm not really a fan of that. I quite like Star Trek: Next Generation as I used to watch that with my Gran when I was younger and staying at her house for the holidays . I am a big fan of Doctor Who and Torchwood I will be gutted when David Tennant leaves as I don't think anyone will play the part as good as he does. I also watch The Sarah Connor Chronicles, however I have heard that the show is going to be axed . Has anyone else been watching this? I started watching Battlestar Galactica but have yet to see last season.
  3. My top 5 would be: 1. The Cider House Rules by John Irving 2. Two Women by Martina Cole 3. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella 4. Ghost by Danielle Steel 5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling
  4. Borgin squinted at her. Harry had the nasty feeling he knew exactly what Hermione was up to. Apparently Hermione felt she had been rumbled, too, because she suddenly threw cautions to the winds. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K Rowling

  9. I'm going to take a couple of books with me on holiday as I am looking to buy a few while I am away - Life of Pi by Yann Martel and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The Secret Garden was one of my favourite films when I was little and I have never read the book.
  10. I really want to read this book as I watched the film and thought it was brilliant. The ending had me in tears it was so sad. I have a dog and it made me think of how I would feel if I was in that situation
  11. I'm really enjoying it - Especially the lovely John Barrowman . Can't wait to see tonights episode.
  12. Hiya, no problem! Thank you for accepting :smile2:.

  13. Welcome to the Forum you will love it here.
  14. I left school at 16 and after my 17 birthday I started my first job as a Housekeeper in a local hotel. I had a few different cleaning jobs over 4 years and went to college to study Childcare. When I was 21 I met my fiance who gave me the confidence to believe in myself and go for the job I really wanted which was office work. 3 years later I am working as an Administrator . My first job did not influence my career choice.
  15. Corn Beef, potatoes and garden peas.
  16. That sounds like a really good read Mac and something I would enjoy. At the moment i'm trying to get around to reading more of Harlan Coben's books, but will definetly be looking for this.
  17. I have read Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper - Case Closed by Patricia Cornwell which I found very interesting. She does quite alot of investigating and actually names someone as 'Jack the Ripper'.
  18. It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office, reading a long memo that was slipping through his brain without leaving the slightest trace of meaning behind. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - JK Rowling
  19. A Prayer for Owen Meany Eleven-year old Owen Meany, playing in a little league baseball game in Gravesend, New Hampshire, hits a foul ball and kills his best friend's mother. Owen doesn't believe in accidents; he believes he is God's instrument. What happens to Owen after that 1952 foul is both extraordinary and terrifying. At moments a comic, self-deluded victim, but in the end the principal, tragic actor in a divine plan, Owen Meany is the most heartbreaking hero John Irving has yet created. My Thoughts I was hooked from the first page of this book. I thought it was absolutely brilliant and I really enjoyed reading it. All the things which happen through the course of the book have a meaning which is made clear as the book ends and it is heart-rending. I have never cried so much at the ending of a book . I agree that Owen Meany is the most heartbreaking hero John Irving has created and I highly recommend this. 10/10
  20. We were lazy tonight and ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut

  24. I have just watched the film Bronson. The film is based on a true story and is about Michael Gordon Petersen AKA Charlie Bronson an Anglo-Welsh criminal who is known as the "most violent prisoner in Britain". It should not be confused with a movie about the late, steely-eyed American action hero of the same name. Well, not entirely. This Charles Bronson was named for the Death Wish star by a bare-knuckle fight promoter who thought Bronson's real name, Mickey Peterson, didn't quite conjure up enough menace, panache and star quality to match his violent, theatrical, legend-in-his-own-mind personality. Bronson is memorably impersonated by Tom Hardy. I had never heard of Charles Bronson before until my fiance wanted to watch the film and has been looking forward to seeing it as he has read one of Bronson's books The Good Prison Guide which I am intrigued to read. Bronson has written eleven books which have all been published. Has anyone seen this film or read any of his book? I would be really interested to see what other people think of the crazy Charlie Bronson.
