  6. Greyfriars Bobby by Eleanor Atkinson This is the famous true story of a devoted dog. Bobby, an active Skye Terrier, adores his master Auld Jock, and when the old man dies, Bobby refuses to leave his grave in Greyfriar's Churchyard in Edinburgh. By day, he plays with the local orphans and eats at a nearby tavern, but, in spite of anything even the Lord Provost himself can do, every night for fourteen years Bobby returns faithfully to sleep by his master. My Thoughts I decided to read this book after we returned from our weekend in Edinburgh. We visited the Greyfriars Bobby's pub and also Bobby's grave. The book mentioned all the places we had visited which was great. It is a lovely story which I really enjoyed reading.
  7. I have finished reading 7th Heaven by James Patterson and I am now away to start Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
  8. 7th Heaven - (Synopsis from Waterstones) Two cases have pushed Detective Lindsay Boxer to the limit. A string of fatal arson attacks have broken out in San Fransisco. The targets have one thing in common: they are all rich, successful, married couples. With four couples dead, Lindsay is determined to put a stop to the killings and trace the murderer. Juggling cases, Lindsay has plenty on her mind. Michael Campion was a people's hero, a popular governor's son who publicly battled against a rare and debilatating heart illness. When he vanished without a trace one evening, his disappearance and the search to find him, dead or alive, hit the headlines daily. But the trail went cold very quickly. Now with a devastating new lead, Lindsay picks up the trail once more. But what is the link between the Campion case and the arson attacks? With the help of her friends and fellow Women's Murder Club members - Yuki, an attorney feeling the strain of a high profile court case; Claire, a medical examiner trying to balance her career and her pregnancy and Cindy, the reporter for a San Fransisco newspaper - Lindsay must race to find the suspects and stop the cold-blooded killers, and fast. My Thoughts This was another brilliant read from the Woman's Murder Club Series. It was full of danger and had me gripped from the very start. The ending had a very surprising twist which I was not expecting. 8/10

  17. Just One Look by Harlan Coben Grace Lawson is living a happy, straightforward life in the suburbs with her husband, Jack, and two young children. But that security is about to come to a brutal end. For when Grace picks up a set of holiday snaps, amongst them is one shot that doesn't fit: a faded image of a life that Grace doesn't recognise and of her husband as she never knew him. Within twelve hours, Jack has disappeared, a brutal hitman is stalking her family and the safe world she knows has been turned upside down. And all Grace can see is that the past is coming back to haunt the present and people are getting hurt... My Thoughts Harlan Coben is brilliant, I loved this reading this book. I was hooked and desperate to find out what happens. There are a lot of characters in this book and it was great how he brought them all together. I was very shocked at the ending and annoyed that I never figured it out myself 10/10

  21. The Woods by Harlan Coben Paul Copeland's sister went missing twenty years ago. Now raising a daughter alone, Cope balances family life with a career as a prosecutor. But when a homicide victim is found with evidence linking him to Cope, the well-buried secrets of the past are threatening everything. Is this body one of the campers who disappeared with his sister? Could his sister be alive...? Confronting his past, Cope must decide what is better left hidden in the dark and what truths can be brought to light... My Thoughts This is another brilliant read by Harlan Coben. I was yet again hooked from the very first chapter and I just could not put it down. The book ended just as I hoped it would 10/10
