  1. I missed todays, completely forgot it was on...pigging out on pancakes ! I saw yesterdays where they went to Portsmouth and they wasn't impressed about that. This show is my guilty pleasure and it is nice to see all of these different places and the attractions . Where did they go in todays episode?
  2. I think I should copy that down and leave that note in my purse so I feel less guilty!
  3. The problem is that the characters are not really realistic. One of them is so "eccentric" but it feels forced on by the author, the author should not have to label their characters.
  4. Haha yes!! I got fed up a while back of my books thrown all over my desk and floor because I kept buying so many (over 100 that I haven't actually read yet) that I ended up buying a bookcase to de-clutter my room...my bookshelf will only fit around up to 10-15 more books on . I keep complaining that I need new clothes and shoes but spend the money for them on books. I go into town a lot with my brother. Why? Because he can spend just as long in bookstores as I do, he is the only one who understands this book addiction. My parents do read but can only stay in a store for 5minutes. Me and my brother usually come out together with

    Hello

Welcome to the BCF, you will fit right in here
  6. I'm reading 'The Beach House' by Jane Green, a bit slow going as I'm struggling to get into it as I just can't stand the characters so far .
  7. Sometimes I find when I am buying a book the person on the tills will start talking about it if it is one of their favourites or if they love the author, so if there isn't a queue then I will stay and chat for a bit . I'm quite lucky in some ways, there is a Waterstones at my University so inbetween lecturers I can usually be found in there...the bad thing is I struggle coming out of a bookstore without buying anything so I often waste my money on books .
  8. I don't know if you have heard of a film called Paranormal Activity. Same concept as The Blair Witch Project leading you to believe it is real footage but it is so scary! It is one of those films where you are expecting something really scary to happen all the time (as in every single scene!) and I ended up sleeping with the lights on for a week .
  9. I still love the Specsavers advert with Postman Pat in, takes me back to my childhood
  10. I can easily watch that film again with the knowledge of it not being real footage and I still get scared over it! Oh and Kelly I know what you mean about the Japanese versions of The Ring and The Grudge! I used to watch them before bed and then had to watch Disney films to help me sleep. Much more scary than the American re-makes.
  11. Oh I have just got hold of those 3 books that were reviewed on the TV book club! Hope to get reading them soon and you haven't given them such a bad review so hopefully I will enjoy them ! I hope you enjoy the True Blood books, I've only read the first 4 but I have enjoyed them so far.
  12. My brother is currently reading a series by Trudi Canavan, I think the series is called The Age of Five. He is enjoying them a lot and luckily I do trust his judgement so I think I will bump Canavan's books up the list ! I can't wait to start reading This Charming Man as well, I've heard nothing but good things about Marian Keyes .
  13. Second Chance by Jane Green Synopsis from Waterstones: Holly Macintosh is sitting round her kitchen table with her oldest friends - friends she hasn't seen since school - now reunited by an unexpected tragedy and catching up on the past 20 years. On the surface, they are all successful and happy. But scratch a little deeper after that extra glass of wine and it's not quite so straightforward: Paul and Anna are struggling to have a baby, Saffron the actress is still waiting for that really big break that - at 39 - is looking less and less likely, and Olivia, always the wallflower of the group, is newly single and mourning her lost love. And what about Holly Mac? Can she and her husband Marcus get their marriage back on track for the sake of the children? Or has someone just come back into her life who will change everything forever? My Thoughts: I did enjoy this book as it was just normal chick-lit, something you can easily sit back and relax while reading. I say the word easily....the writing is rather poor but that does not bother me a great deal as I did want an easy read having just got through a Stephen King book! The characters seemed quite stereotyped which annoyed me a fair bit, but to an extent they were likable Jane did bring some good questions along at the I have to say I did like Will, and I really wanted This was good because it didn't make the story as predictable but it is rather annoying thinking you know what is going to happen and then end up being totally wrong . I will continue reading some more books by Jane Green, but I think more of a light relief to my small brain in-between reading the longer, more well written books... Rating: 7/10
  14. I find thats the reason I try not to read too much of one author or one genre in one go because after a while I do get bored and find myself wanting to read something different . How are you finding The Little Stranger? That is one book I'm thinking about buying.
  15. "The wine has been drunk, the pasta demolished, three-quarters of the tiramisu polished off" - Second Chance by Jane Green
  16. Just finished The Shining - fantastic book! Now I am just about to start Second Chance by Jane Green.
  17. The Shining by Stephen King Synopsis from Waterstones: Danny is only five years old, but he is a 'shiner', aglow with psychic voltage. When his father becomes caretaker of an old hotel, his visions grow out of control. Cut off by blizzards, the hotel seems to develop an evil force, and who are the mysterious guests in the supposedly empty hotel? My Thoughts: This is the second book by Stephen King I have read and before I started I admit I wasn't that excited about it because even though I have heard he is a good author, the previous book of his that I had read, Gerald's Game, was a disappointing read. This book surprised me as I actually really enjoyed it. It took a while to read due to me being quite a slow reader anyway but once I got reading I found it hard to put down. King's writing can be too descriptive in places but he knows how to hold an audience. I don't tend to get scared by books, I think there has only ever been one that has scared me before, but this book sure did make me jump when What I really loved about this book is the characters history! This is the reason I love books more than films and that is because when writing the author can ramble on for ages about each characters history with it still being relevant to the plot so you as a reader can enjoy the book more as you have a better understanding of the characters. I have decided I will start to read more by Stephen King now! Rating: 9/10
  18. I hope that it really is worth the wait . But then again... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a199017/ronan-keating-auditions-for-hobbit-role.html
  19. I find this rather cool http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/49087
  20. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer Synopsis from Waterstones: To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs. Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating and unfathomable consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life - first discovered in TWILIGHT, then scattered and torn in NEW MOON and ECLIPSE - seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed...forever? My Thoughts: I know a lot of people don't seem to give this book a positive review but I actually enjoy this book. The first part of the book is all about Bella and Edward It only lasts for 138 pages but it is a very fast read, there is a lot going on what with Bella seemed to annoy me more in this part of the book though...more than usual...it was the The second part was all Jacob! My favourite part of the book, the chapter names were hilarious, just so Jacob! I love the Jacob parts and exploring the packs mind, the typical humour of Jacob and to see the story through somebody else's mind rather than Bellas. The third part is I did like this book a lot more because of Jacobs part and Bella One thing that I didn't like was I liked this, I liked Twilight, I liked the others, shoot me! Rating: 8/10
  21. Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer Synopsis from Waterstones: 'Bella?' Edward's soft voice came from behind me. I turned to see him spring lightly up the porch steps, his hair windblown from running. He pulled me into his arms at once, and kissed me again. His kiss frightened me. There was too much tension, too strong an edge to the way his lips crushed mine - like he was afraid we had only so much time left to us. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which? Following the international bestsellers Twilight and New Moon, Eclipse is the much-anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's captivating saga of vampire romance. My Thoughts: Out of the series Eclipse is one of my favourite books. What I enjoyed more about this book was the history as there was
  22. Great review Kelly, this is a book I will be buying! You know me with my idea of a Bella/Jake romance
  23. I had an argument with my friend over that, of course, I was right! Seriously I wasn't offended in any way...maybe because I have a good memory and remember Tennant's doctor saying that years ago though.
  24. Ahh what a day I've had :/ completely complicated!

  25. Hey Tom ^_^ I'm fine thankies, a bit cold but good. How are you?
