  1. Working through 2 Deepak Chopra books simultaniously!!
  2. just popping in to say Hi, since I can't do FB at work.

  3. Thanks for adding. I was having issues over here with my adding function.

  4. Sympathy for Delicious on DVD. I LOVED IT!
  5. I liked this book, it was very interesting. I didn't think it was well written though, but the story was interesting.
  6. The Help: Movie was good, but of course things were omitted and changed. Book was much more enjoyable. Glad I read it first. Doubt: This is the only movie that was word for word from the book (play). Never in my life, have I ever experienced that.
  7. Stephen Fry is just great period. I'm not particular about narrators. One I do like and would prefer if his books were in his voice would be Stephen King.
  8. Anything is possible, and since I'm not in school, I'm not forced to read anything. I don't even like joining reading circles/clubs because I don't want to have to read a book by such and such a day. There was one book I can recall that was with some on-line reading circle that everyone had to read. It was "Kite Runner". I did enjoy that, but I can't say I was FORCED. Another book I enjoyed when in school was "Hamlet". But those are far and few.
  9. I used to but I stopped. If I did, I'd be adding books every other day. I don't have the time to keep up with what I have. I just keep track of books read now.
  10. If anyone has ever looked at my reading list (this year in particular) you will see that I've read a lot of these type of books this year. I've always read them, but this year I'm reading more than usual. I've read "The Secret" and "The Power" (same author) didn't read the Alchemest though. I think these books are helpful, but people who read them need to invest in reading more than one or two and put it into practice and utilize patience. Like "The Secret" glosses over the law. It is a law but people need to learn how to use it correctly and one book is not going to teach you that. Over the years I've read lots of Chopra, Dyer, Williamson, Virtue, Allen....etc. I checked out the The Yes After Yesterday site. Sounds interesting, I've not heard of it, thanks for the heads up.
  11. I've tried to organize, but it is impossible, even after the purge. I have 2 bookshelves for my books. One bookshelf is 7 feet, the other is 4 feet. The seven foot shelf has to sections (left and right) and 5 or 6 shelves each side, and the smaller one has 4 shelves. In the past, I've tried to organize them by genre, I have it sort of organized, I can find things easier. But it is a very general organization. I have a section for classics, a secion for Health/Self Help, Music/Writing, another one for oversized. The smaller one has miscellanious books, and then I have some stacked on a bakers rack. I have no room and the Harry Potter, Star Wars and Star Trek books are in my sons room on his bookshelf, which is seven feet tall. I have too many darn books in my house!
  12. I liked this book, I wasn't sure at first. The young narrarator threw me off, however, as the story progressed I enjoyed it more and more. I've been recommending it.
  13. Final Destination 5 - It was just like the others, I enjoyed it. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark - Predictable.
  14. I don't think one is better than the other. I'm American so I tend to read more American authors, but that is not because I don't like to read British Authors. I tend to read Classic British Authors and Modern American Authors.
  15. I recently got rid of about 200 books. I was well over 1,000, I never counted. I think I'm down to maybe 800. This is physical books. I don't count what is on my 2 e-readers.
  16. Almost done with Please Look After Mom by Kyung-Sook Shin. Listening to Rodzina (YA Novel) by Karen Chusman.
  17. Interesting question, the answer for me is no. I buy 2nd hand books from the library (goodness knows how many people have read those), fairs and other street vendors. If I borrow a book from the library it is used, so it is the same thing, I just don't have to give it back. I want to add that it makes reading for me a shared experience as well as a personal one.
  18. Nah no guilt buttons, she was right on point. The book is sadly accurate.
  19. Yes I'm going to read the other two shortly, just have other books ahead of it. I will probably have them both read by the end of this year.
