  1. That's a shame, we didn't have a Borders in Birmingham until about 5 years ago and I still don't really like it, usually I only go in because I like paperchase. I find the atmosphere in Waterstones is better (and I adore one of our waterstones, I could live there!) and they have more books!
  2. Wow, you're probably better off online then! I must say our Borders isn't the greatest, it has 2 floors but half of the top floor is taken up by paperchase, starbucks, and the magazines! The bottom floor is all non-fiction so I've only ever walked through it although I plan to have a look at their psychology section. Our waterstones on the other hand are great, one has 4 floors, all pretty big (except maybe the tower, which is still a decent size), and the other has 5 (but one doesn't have many books in it, they call it the book garden and it's designed for reading in). But then I do live in Birmingham I expect Waterstones in smaller places are not as good
  3. That's rubbish

  10. Really?! I'm sure they have it at our Borders although their children's section isn't as big as Waterstones. I noticed our Borders has a psychology section the other day and I'm missing my studies so I might go and look next time I'm in town, I prefer Waterstones but their psychology section is rubbish, it's mainly textbook type books rather than ones you'd read all the way through, and really small (like when you take out stuff like revision books it's about a case), I'm hoping Border's section will be better
  11. Ah I didn't know that, I thought the last one was short!

  18. Have you seen the film of Stardust? It's really good
  19. Definitely in a shop, I almost never buy books online, even though they are cheaper. I like to browse, even if I already know what I want to buy, and that's so much easier in a shop. Plus I like to pick books up, see how big they are, read the back, flick through, you can't do that online
  20. Oh yes I love the smell of books! That's part of the reason I couldn't do with digital 'books'
