Well, the rumour going round about BD is the same as the last HP film, if it gets made it'll be split into two films! Could be interesting
I loved New Moon the book (even if I did sob through most of it!) but I'm unsure about the film. I think they've made Jake and Bella's friendship into too much of a romance, they were close but not that close (from Bella's p.o.v. anyway) and I personally don't like that. I am however desperate to see Eclipse as I love David Slade - roll on July! I shall be miffed though if they make Eclipse into this bloomin' love triangle fest as well
Sorry but I'm firmly Team Edward, Jacob just annoys me and I really don't like Taylor Lautner - can't get past his appearance in Cheaper By The Dozen 2

Wow you guys are really on top of these things! My day was so crazy today I'm just seeing these deets now and WOW! Just wow
. I'm very excited about BRMC, Muse, Killers, Editors, Bon Iver and Thom Yorke, and almost even more excited to hear the rest of the bands since they are mostly new to me! Can't wait to hear it
.
I'd forgotten all about it to be honest until my sister emailed me asking if I'd heard anything! There are some great bands on there, completely right for the tone they want to set in NM - so glad I've already pre-ordered my copy

Hello Holly! Welcome to the forum
-
A lot of those artists are more sort of acoustic/folky than the last soundtrack - Bon Iver are fantastic as are Grizzly Bear
-
I've posted the soundtrack in its own thread and yep, Muse are on it
-
The Killers' song is a new one?!
Yep, the peeps in charge wanted as many brand new tracks as possible
-
You're welcome!!! I hadn't heard of Anya Marina, Sea Wolf or Alexandre Desplat- the rest I know! Fantastic soundtrack - only another month until it's out
-
Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" — premiered exclusively on MTV.com over VMA weekend — leads off the soundtrack, and is followed by
Band of Skulls ("Friends")
Thom Yorke ("Hearing Damage"),
Lykke Li ("Possibility"),
The Killers ("A White Demon Love Song"),
Anya Marina ("Satellite Heart"),
Muse ("I Belong To You [New Moon]"),
Bon Iver with St. Vincent ("Rosyln"),
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club ("Done All Wrong"),
Hurricane Bells ("Monsters"),
Sea Wolf ("The Violet Hour"),
OK Go ("Shooting the Moon"),
Grizzly Bear ("Slow Life"),
Editors "No Sound but the Wind"
Alexandre Desplat ("New Moon [The Meadow]).

Unfortunately, as Wuthering Heights has proved, it could happen :motz:While Twilight has been successful in getting people to read books, it's kind of taken on a life of its own and so anything associated with it will be known as that Twilight *insert book/band/cd/film* here
And they are definitely the best band in the world - no questions asked
-
Thanks for that .. it was one of my guesses .. I love that song now.
I'm still not sure whether to be pleased about it or not.
It's one more step towards world domination though .. and I don't see it as 'selling out' .. what do they create music for if it's not for people to hear.
It is a great song! And I get what you mean, I think the problem is that people should like Muse for their music and not because they're associated with the Twilight Saga. A friend was saying the other day that people could come to think of them - and also Paramore - as Twilight bands & nothing else.
-
The Muse track that's likely to be used is I Belong To You - the full listing is meant to be announced later today!
-
Wow, I didn't even know this was out! I loved Witches so I've taken advantage of the fact that Amaon currently have this for
-
That's an amazing pic, especially considering it was taken on a phone! I haven't been to Cardiff for years so I might have to take a trip over the bridge soon
-
Well, I've given up on The Lost Symbol - it wasn't holding my attention so I've passed it on to my mum and will go back to it when she's done
-
How's the book, Scarlet? It sounds intriguing. Have you read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?
I've spent a bit of time recently organising two bags of books to donate to the book fair I'm going to next week. See! I can show some control with books! (Never mind the fact that I originally had about 3-4 bags worth of books to donate but I changed my mind about quite a few of them...
)
I'm liking it so far, not sure if it's as well done as P & P & Zombies which, yes, I have read
I've given up on Dan Brown - it's not holding my attention so I've given it to my mum and I'll go back to it when she finishes. Still persevering with The Host and actually starting to enjoy it now!
-
I'm off to bed to carry on with Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters
-
The family of Dashwood had been settled in Sussex since before the Alteration, when the waters of the world grew cold and hateful to the sons of man, and darkness moved on the face of the deep.
Sense & Sensibility & Sea Monsters - Jane Austen & Ben H Winters
-
Yay! Hope you enjoy it
-
You're welcome lovely
Fluke is a good choice though - Herbert is one of my favourite writers!
-
Short answer - yes

Hello Kelly! Welcome to the forum

Has anyone read Mirrorscape? I have it as an audio download, and I'm having trouble getting into it.. I wondered if it was worth persevering with.
I bought this for my 16yo niece who said "I liked it but it wasn't brilliant" and asked me to buy the next book Mirrorstorm
She's going to lend Mirrorscape to me next time she's home from school.

has anyone read the Shadowmancer by G.P Taylor? the title caught my eye today
There was a lot of fuss over this book when it first came out. The chap is/was a vicar and he was being touted as the next J K Rowling - I've read this one & also Wormwood by him and I wasn't that impressed by either of them. I thought the writing was quite stuffy and it certainly didn't read as well as a Rowling book, JMHO though
-
Just cant get into it......read it on bus today coming back from work and nothing........
One day.....
It took me ages to get into this as well. At least to about 60 pages in, so you're almost there ScarletBella!Ended up really enjoying it too.
Yay! I am starting to like it more already - I just needed to make myself carry on reading
The Widows of Eastwick - John Updike

Oh no Sue
Is the book not holding your attention or is it not as good as Witches? I just got my dispatch notice so my copy is on its way!
