  1. Hmm.. interesting that she didn't protect it closely, then got upset when it actually got posted. What doesn't get posted to the internet these days? Still.. I'll have to check this out after I'm done with the series. Thanks for the info, Roxi!
  2. I'm just about finished with the 3rd book of this series (Eclipse).. I don't usually get into vampire stories or things of that nature, but with all the hype and the nudges from a very good friend (also not into vampire stories) to look past the cover, I gave it a shot. Have loved them.. very entertaining, hard to put down at points, and slightly addictive. There was a brief period of travel for me where I got stuck between books 2 and 3.. I'd finished book 2 but didn't yet own book 3 and couldn't get it quickly. I was about to go crazy. I hadn't heard about this series Meyer started from Edward's perspective.. The posts in this thread are the first I'm hearing of this. She started one of the books but hasn't finished it? What is the story with this?
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone Chimera, to answer your question -- My husband's in a rotational job program that has us moving every 6 mos for the first 2 years. -- 2 domestic (US) followed by 2 international rotations. We're halfway through our first international rotation here in India, then we'll move to one more country. Definitely a different experience here in India... Learning a lot!

  5. Born and raised in U.S... moved this past February to St. Louis, Missouri .. then New York City .. now Bombay, India !
  6. I'm a woman of few hobbies, but am really passionate about them! reading, of course... exercising (treadmill and eliptical mostly) scrapbooking (thank goodness my mom is really crafty!)
  7. Like many of you, I've read for as long as I can remember. From the early days of Nancy Drew and The Babysitters Club series, I've always "had my nose in a book," as my parents liked to say. When I started approaching my teenage years, my parents always told me to get my nose out of the book or I'd never learn the roads and highways, and would be lost when it was time to get my driver's license. They were right! It's a great way to relax and unwind for me.. I love few things more than reading a great book in a nice, hot bath at the end of the day. The good stories suck me in and it's a great way to live vicariously through others. It's something also about great writers, I think.. its ironic that their hard work and countless re-writes/edits are best recognized when the readers can read effortlessly and get helplessly caught up in the spell of the story.
  8. Glad to hear it, Chrissy! I was sad to see my old board disappear.. excited about this new one!
  9. Hi Everyone! Happy New Year to you all! I just joined today, as the forum I was in previously just shut down. I did some searches for other forums that may fit me well, and decided on BCF. Happy to be here! I'm 26 years old, originally from the US but am temporarily living in Mumbai, India (I just heard the call to prayer outside my window.. not kidding.. this place is fascinating for a girl from a small town in the southern US!). Been here 3 months, have 3 more to go, and as I'm not working, have plenty of time for my favorite hobby of reading! I'll probably spend much time in the chick lit section of this board, but am also hoping to expand my horizons by checking out some other sections and finding other inspirations! Hope to chat with some of you soon!
