Awwwwhhh thats so cute =P I love your signature as well. I don't like Terry Pratchett (yet) but if he's that sarcastic all the time I'll definately give him a go

Oh they're beautiful! You've definately got a natural eye for photography
  4. I read A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, thinking it was true until I was about halfway through. The dude overcomes drug and alcohol abuse, and then feels the need to big himself up? Still has issues methinks.

Excuse me? I apologise for showing interest in other people. Shan't happen again.
  6. Lexieeeee can you let me know when you get online, I need a favour for the Around The World challenge thread! (Don't worry, its small, no research!) :P Thanks :D

  7. Hahaha lil Nic Cage fan club here =P I probably will read it eventually, I'd just be more enclined to read it sooner were it particularly popular.

Its my favourite, which is why I put notably more effort into it. =P Its gonna be expensive though. Hehe.
  9. Chimera's link there raises an interesting question - I just started going through it, but a lot of the books those people chose are books about countries, not just FROM countries, so that the readers get some cultural idea of the country the book is set in. Theres quite a few countries we don't have, not written by authors of those countries, but explicitly set in those countries. Should we include them or not?
  10. Ah thats cool. I will buy it so.

Sure, I'll post some here. They're all a bit dodgy, but yeah. They need work to become tattoos. ^ Thats not so much digital art, but I designed it, (its my handwriting) using a song lyric. And its the only one I have done. ^ Thats my literature tattoo, quoting Oscar Wilde - "The Suspence is terrible - I hope that it will last." Needs work on the writing to make it fluid, but its as close as I'll get it on computer. ^ Small version of the biggest one, coz its a large image. Its also my favourite. Its a Guns N Roses tattoo that as a whole represents my love of music, and features a line from a song by them which is a major motto of mine - 'Just because you're winning don't mean you're the lucky ones.'
  12. Yeah I post usually on American forums and I'm rarely online when they are.

Nellie: Nothing spectacular - I have a roboraptor and my brother has.... god whats his name... that little robot fella that dances and things. Uhm. It'll come to me. K1nS: Thats an awesome poster. I love digital art too, though I've never finished anything except tattoo designs.
  14. Ooooh lovely Chimera, thanks I'm gonna have a look through that in a minute. Added: Belgium: ["The Sorrow of Belgium" - Hugo Claus] Brazil: ["Dom Casmurro" - Machado de Assis] Iceland: ["Independent People" - Halldor Laxness] Rwanda: ["Left to Tell" - Imaculee Ilibigiza] Sudan: ["The Translator: A Tribesman's Memoir of Darfur" - Daoud Hari] Turkey: ["The 'person of dubious parentage' of Istanbul" - Elif Shafak] Wales: ["Resistance" - Owen Sheers] Uruguay: ["The Shipyard" - Juan Carlos Onetti]
  15. Ugh. My mother brought the original Harry Pothead book home to me when it first came out, and I read it, hated it and said, 'call me when the movie gets made so I can say 'I told you so.'' I just..... can't stand things with silly names. I like His Dark Materials - sensible names. I like the Abhorsen trilogy - sensible names. I like the Coldfire Trilogy - sensible names. But I'm afraid when humans start being called muggles and squibs, I put the book back on the shelf. EDIT: Having said that, this book is very pretty and would look nice on my bookshelf. Ms. Rowling may get my money yet.
  16. I've seen the book in shops and its a lovely looking book - I want to buy it just because of that. Unfortunately I don't like J. K. Rowling.
  17. I'm actually a very shy very emotional little girl

AI = awesome. I love photography too actually, although I suck at it so I don't bother much. I also have a buying-and-selling hobby on ebay. Well, its more to make money, which it does, but I deal in just one thing which I enjoy collecting and selling.
  19. I have to admit I largely love Nic because if I was 20 years older I'd find him highly attractive. Hes very good looking, but in that 'if-I-were-his-age' kinda way. Its his gorgeous droopy blue eyes. My not-boyfriend has the same kinda eyes and I love them.

This is a good thread. I like threads that stimulate conversations where you get to learn about other members. In my spare time I like to play guitar, draw, sing very loudly and badly if nobody is around, chase my dog around the house and eat toast. No but really. Books, Music, Art. They ARE my spare time.
  21. Well yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed the series, I just chose not to associate it with the books, I take them as two seperate things, each good in their own way.
  22. My kinda gal I cannot STAND the majority of girls - I was never a tomboy but I definately get on way better with guys in real life. They're not as superficial or uptight or complex. Guys come to me complaining about their girlfriends (I'm the agony aunt for my friends ) and I actually cannot explain these girls' behaviour. It makes NO sense to me. Shut up, calm down, stop being a superficial sheep. /rant. More random facts about me: 1. I dislike 99% of the human race, there are too many stupid/superficial/power-mad people for my liking. 2. I have a foul temper. I lose it in a second and scream at people. 3. I have a foul mouth, I'm TERRIBLE for swearing, even though I'm very articulate and have a posh-ish accent. Apparently that makes for a very amusing combination. 4. I also am not a girly-girl. I wear little make-up and care very little about my appearance - once a person is tidy and clean that is and should be good enough. Having said that, I do wear nice things going to college, because of the afore-mentioned 99% of superficial people. 5. Most people think I'm an emo or a goth. I wear all black or monochrome nearly all the time. Ironically, this is a result of insecurity about my appearance, and as such choosing not to wear bright attractive colours in order to avoid attention. Unfortunatley hiding in dark colours makes one emo/goth/suicidal/all of the above. So instead, I hide behind a years-in-the-making reputation for being a cold apathetic goth b**ch.
  23. Its a very good show, but the book series is way better. They changed the entire story and the personalities of most of the characters.
  24. Woah, you crazy crazy research girl O.o I feel like I'm not researching enough now I'll start working on those now, thats fantastic. EDIT: and you even formatted them properly so they match what I've done! That makes my job SO much easier! Thank you! SECOND EDIT: My god. Inkheart. Thats one of my favourite trilogies ever, and I didn't think of it.
