  1. Ooooooookay I just looked it up, and.... oooookay. The title and cover art leave a LOT to be desired, it's like something a 14 year old emo kid would come up with. The plot synopsis sounded a bit cooler though.
  2. I'm wary of reading this guy. All I have is No Country, and I love the movie. I attempted the book a while back and found the writing style a little deterring. I've heard it can be really off-putting.
  3. I had a weird sudden craving yesterday to read LOTR, which was weird and annoying as my LOTR books are in Kerry, where I'm... not.
  4. I love that quote too Nicola, it was another I was going to include but I went with Cathy's existential pondering
  5. I could post so much here, but let's just settle with: 'I cannot express it, but surely you and every body have a notion that there is - or should be - an existence of yours beyond yourself? What were the use of my creation, if it were entirely contained here?' And everything Oscar Wilde ever said. That man was a satirical genius.
  6. Hey Ben, Glass Books was in Bookjumper's thread, though no idea whether it's something she's read, or wants to read. I THINK she's read it though. It made it's way onto my wishlist, anyway, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you think
  7. Hey Bev, sorry about the delay in replying. Not at my best lately. However, my book arrived and I LOVE it. Like, I was just holding it and smelling it for ages. It's beautiful. I wish all my books could be bound like that. Thank you so, so much.

I didn't get any msn messages from you the other night, what did you say?

  8. Really? That sucks. I'd love to get themed ones. Disney characters or something. Wonder do they make those?
  9. I think I might invest in some bookends
  10. I'm considering spending money I really don't have on this
  11. I actually had a sandwich from the O Brien's sandwich bar - my favourite eat-out kinda places. Their sandwiches are epic but over about a thousand calories for what I have in them, so it was also a goodbye to junk food. It was delicious though.
  12. I'm eating comfort foods today. So not in a good mood at all. Also going back to my healthy eating thing tomorrow, so I'm making the most of the junk!
  13. I'm so behind, it's unreal. I agree that it was too short, but you know she's writing another book related to this? 'Under The Light' about where the two kids (I can't remember their names! ) went, while Helen and James were in their bodies. I also loved the ending, I thought there was a major Donnie Darko sense of, everything seemed disjointed and was falling apart but in the end everybody ended up a little better for it.
  14. Hey Dan.

  19. Probably just sandwiches for me too, as I'm travelling today and can't be bothered making anything when I get home.
  20. I'm suddenly really glad I keep all my books - I'm at my parents house at the moment and I just discovered I have about 12 Buffy and Angel novels and the Watcher's Guides!! I totally forgot I even owned those! I'm bringing them back to Cork with me today
  21. You do all know I have the first going round in a bookring?
  22. I'm going to have some mash
