  1. I've never seen it! I've only heard about it on Buffy and Angel. I've always thought it sounded amazing.
  2. Oooh me likey this thread. As if I need to scare myself anymore. I'll third Paradise Lost - it's a great read and there's SO much literature about it to pad it out thematically and characteristically. I studied it last year and absolutely loved it.
  3. It's amazing. Theres nothing like it I always scoop the chocolate fish out of my way until I've eaten all the ice cream and then eat them last - the chocolate they're made of is delicious, I wish they'd sell them seperate from the ice cream! My friend was telling me that they do in Belfast.
  4. That's my other favourite! I want ice cream now
  5. I agree! I love it too.
  6. Sowwy, didn't mean to scare you But yes, it is my next book.
  7. I got a death threat this morning warning me to read The Dante Club, so I'm thinking I should maybe go with that....
  8. I haven't written my review of it yet (properly) but I will. I must read Good Omens myself!! Hope you enjoy it BookJumper It's such a hilariously intelligent but wacky novel
  9. Exactly. And what you said about Seven mirroring Data (same with The Doctor), that is why Data is my favourite character. I love the exploration of life, humanity, emotions, friendships and so on that he explores, and how he questions them in ways that are so simple we'd never think to do it ourselves, because we spend too much time taking it all for granted. I'm doing a paintshop painting of him now, the scene in Generations where he's reunited with Spot and he cries. Think I'm gonna call it 'Ode To Data' and include the 'Ode To Spot' poem under it
  10. I wish they hadn't put eye candy in Star Trek. Deanna Troy, most of the women in DS9, Seven, T'pal. I know they did it to make the show more appealing or whatever, but really, anyone who watches it for that or sees it as a fundamental aspect is so completely missing the point of the entire show. That's what Baywatch was for. Well, maybe not in T'pal's case, Enterprise sucked monkeys. I think Deanna Troy was the one who annoyed me most, coz she could have been a good character but they ruined her. Least they covered her up in later seasons.
  11. Seven Of Nine was cool, she went from being the generic eye candy to being one of the most well developed characters in any of the series.
  12. Read another 90 pages of The Undead, opinion is definately that the idea is very good, and it has some great twists and points of execution (literally and literar-ily) but it's also a bit over the top and scatty in parts. You'd know it was a first novel. Still enjoyable though.
  13. Tim Minchin - So F**king Rock Live Cutest show opening EVER - Minch is well known for his awkward show starts, the opening song is always more silly than anything, and after it's over it usually takes him a few minutes to get into his stride - it takes AGES in this show and he keeps breaking down laughing at his own jokes, it's so funny. Probably not good if you don't already love him, but very endearing to anyone who does.
  14. Want. I have Inkspell in hardback, I need Inkheart and Inkdeath in hardback.
  15. Read 173 pages of The Un-Dead last night, surprising even myself. I didn't think I was going to fly through it. Very, very easy to read, but starting to get a bit scattery too I think. It'll be interesting to see how it all ties up.
  16. I try
  17. I just cooked some chicken and stuck it in a sandwich, couldn't be bothered with anything else.
  18. I've read just over a hundred pages of The Undead so far tonight, and plan to read about another 40, bringing me up to the halfway point. Should actually finish it by Saturday, much sooner than I expected.
  19. Well now, if the men on this forum look anything like those lovely chaps in the nip, I suggest they should come here right now so that I may re-acquaint myself with them
  20. Now all we need is one of the outnumbered men on this forum to come in and go - 'What... the....'
  21. I've merged this with the old Interview With A Vampire thread we had, and changed the title to include the whole saga
  22. The light fixtures totally need to be touch sensitive. You know those metal ones, you touch it, it lights up dim, touch it again, it gets brighter...
  23. Please use this thread or this book activity thread when talking about multiple books or your general book activity. Starting new threads is generally only for when you have finished a book and want to post thoughts/reviews and start an in-depth discussion about it.
  24. I was wondering the same thing actually. Clearly, we need to make our own more anatomically-accurate one.
