  1. Don't worry about it, I'm more loaded down with things than I had expected and I was probably going to scrap the idea anyway. Feel free to take it over Ceinwenn. Only thing I would say is to make sure people are aware of things like not knowing who will get their addresses and so on, as some people will not like that (some swaps had to be specifically organised during the last one.)
  2. Stargate Universe is about as inspiring as the new Star Trek movie. It's so MELODRAMATIC, it couldn't be more dramatic if they had 13 year old emos playing the part! That third episode, my god - It nearly turned me suicidal to avoid watching the end of it It's not funny, the characters (other than Rush who I love) are completely forgettable, and there's nothing NEW in it. What's going to happen in the next episode?
  3. It's a good movie, but it went in a different direction (read as; action blockbuster) to what I would like (read as; even remotely intellectual). As my brother said, it made Nemesis look like a masterpiece.
  4. Well if this new 'movie' is anything to go by, the very essence of Data's character that I'm nattering on about will be lost on the viewers
  5. Just watched it - loved it! And he talked about the gig he did here in Ireland! Bless.... he actually got it slightly wrong, the actual response was much better. He didn't say, 'you're like a plant (leading into the next song), and like all plants in my life you will die soon' he said, 'what perfect timing! It's as though I planted you there myself, and like all things I plant, you will die soon' The song was awesome too
  6. I haven't seen it yet - I wonder what song he sang? And yes, his eyes are pretty, though he wears bright blue contacts most of the time as part of his overall make up.
  7. Sorry Michelle, I've had no internet to reply since I lasted messaged you! I'm on a dodgy connection so I'm not around much.

How are you feeling now? Better I hope, since it's been a couple of days!

What are the other two subjects Beth did out of curiosity? Math was always a weak area for me, here we do Honours or Ordinary level classes throughout the 5 years of secondary school, and Math was the only one I had to concede defeat on and do Ordinary level

I'm not too bad, quite tired because I've been travelling so much the last couple of days - slept about 13 hours last night and woke up tired still. Definately thinking pilllllllls

  8. I don't think there will be another Next Generation film, and I'm content not to dwell on the prospect
  9. Cheers Nici, I'd forgotten that again! Just stuck it in the sky plus planner to record
  10. You're horribly cynical aren't you? I thought I was bad. I know money will always win out over anything like the death of a character, but as it is, Spiner himself said, as you just said, he didn't see how he could continue to play Data, and this is how it HAS ended, so concern not yourself with the cynical 'what if's, and just be glad that Data's death need not be the undermined melodramatic irrelevance it could potentially be! Personally, I'm happy that his ending is so defined, he is the only one that could have lived forever, but we actually get to see the vast extent of his life, particularly the humanistic development of it, and even though I'm sad that he is (as far as I am concerned) irrevocably dead, I'm glad that I got to see all of it, if that makes sense.
  11. Wouldn't read it in a mad fit. Not just because bringing Data back through B4 completely disregrards the entire essence of Data's character, as I've already said, as well as completely undermining the significence of his death - I don't know why anyone would want to do that. I know someone else who read and enjoyed that comic, and even he agreed with me. Then again, comic continuations are always complete rubbish (take the Buffy one for example, Joss Whedon is involved in that and he still managed to allow it become a complete load of tosh) so I'd never read them nor consider them relevant to anything.
  12. Didn't watch this, but saw the response today from himself about the 'lynch mob'. Also saw the text comments from several people agreeing completely with him. Based on what he said, while I don't discriminate racially with reference to colour of skin (and believe asians, black people or whoever can all be British, Irish, American, or whatever) I can completely relate to the feeling of not being at home in your own country, it's prevalent here. I know nothing about the BNP or Griffin at ALL, beyond what I saw on the news this morning, but like I say, don't entire agree, don't entirely disagree. I see nothing fascist in wanting to maintain cultural identity and not be overwhelmed by other nationalities to the extent of feeling like an outsider in your own country. (This was the issue that was spoken on this morning, I can't comment on anything else said last night.)
  13. Well neither did I, that's why I still have a pounding headache from spending an hour crying after watching that blasted movie! But the fact is he does, and it's pretty epic (as well as heart breaking) so it's worth watching.
  14. How could you be crazy for loving Data? He's my favourite fictional character of all time (arguably) - I think he's wonderful. I couldn't NOT watch Nemesis, since it's how his story ends.
  15. I love Generations. It'll always be my favourite. I don't think Nemesis is AS bad as people say, but yeah it's dodgy and I agree it would have been much better had Frakes directed it.
  16. That's like eating fat-free food. The substance just isn't there
  17. I like 'speaking to' these sorts of people. Bit like banning spammers, it's a guilty pleasure
  18. Hiya!

Just said I'd pop in say hi. :D Saw on Facebook that you have a migraine :( That really sucks. If it's any consolation (or just plain funny -) I have a self-inflicted headache and massively puffy eyes today as a result of watching a movie I KNEW would make me absolutely cry my eyes out late last night  I look like I haven't slept in a month and feel like I've been drinking every night of that month!

Congrats again for Beth - you must be delighted! And it's one less thing to worry about - picking a school might be stressful but at least it's a proud-parent related stress!

    Hows everything else going? x

  19. Awwww I missed all the fun!!
  20. Oh god, you should have seen me Fi. Every time he came on screen I started crying! And then that exchange betwee him and Picard where he says that
  21. Voyager was pretty bad. I watch it coz at least it's more enjoyable than many other shows by virtue of being Star Trek (and I like Janeway and Chakotay) but it really wasn't very good. Paris could have been a great character, but they just sorta stuck him in the corner and didn't do anything with him. I just watched ST: Nemesis for the first time since I saw it in cinemas when I was 14. Pretty God-awful movie, but worth watching if you're as big a fan of Data as I am, to see
  22. I do though! What it aspires to is just so awesome... but it falls so painfully short....
  23. Well, some of the premises were fantastic, as were some of the executions and twists. But overall it tried too hard, completely rewrote the characters, was entirely unbelieveable and had the most ludocris ending I've ever read, ever. Strangely, I want to read it again.
  24. I finished The Undead and am gobsmacked. It redefines the expression 'off the wall'.
