  7. Now that's what I call cool! Thanks for sticking the link in here Steve.
  8. A firm nodding head and a big yes from me for the Unseen University library and Jasper Fforde's creations in the Thursday Next series. TV wise I immediately thought of the library at Sunnydale High School in 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' with steps leading up to the 'stacks'.
  9. How wonderful Carelia! Is that next Friday as in the 23rd or the 30th? You definitely have a busy August happening. I'm not a wedding person either, so I just focused on the mug of tea I planned on having once all our guests had gone (we had our reception as a barbeque in the garden). There we sat exhausted but happy, a mug of tea each and a lovely setting sun. I would suggest keeping an after event thought in your mind - it keeps the stress levels down. Are you going on honeymoon?
  10. I'm shocked, horrified and ever so hurt......................................... Nah, we all should have other....mmmmmm....vehicles!
  11. How exciting muggle not, your GD must have so much fun at summer camp. It's not something we have in the UK, and the thought of it always intrigued me, although I am too long in the tooth for it now. We collected my KA on Saturday, and I am enjoying getting to know her. My ancient Rover was an entirely different beasty so it will take me a little while to really get used to her, but so much fun. She is the very (very!) basic model but she is shiny and nippy and little. I keep grinning at the thought of her.
  12. A lot is happening for me this month. I have bought a new (to me) car - a little red KA - perfect for pootling along country lanes. It will be mine this Saturday, and I cannot wait. Also, I have finished working at the bakery after almost 4 years, but have been so non-stop busy since with various things I almost wish I was back at work!
  13. Happy Birthday! Have a lovely day. X

  21. He isn't an author I know, but as regards where to start with his writing, this link to Fantastic Fiction will give you the titles and their publication dates. Hope that helps.
  22. Some of those have wonderful titles, that make you ponder not only the person who wrote it in the first place, but the person who wants to read them....Crafting with cat hair? Wow, that conjures up so many images of tabby cat coloured scarfs, tortoiseshell coloured mittens etc
  23. Ooo, that's interesting! ^ I am pretty happy with their choice, although surprised that they went with a known name. I got back into Doctor Who through Matt Smith's incarnation, and back tracked from him. I am sad he is moving on as I do rate his skills, but the nature of DW is change. *a little sigh* It was a real shame that his name was being banded about as a replacement, as I would have preferred more of a surprise. In an ideal situation I would have loved for the entire regeneration to be a surprise - let alone the who of it.
  24. I double posted in August, but thought I would make use of the post today (November 1st) It's been a while since I have posted, but until recently managed to read quite a bit. I stayed with reading series of books so that I could stay immersed in each book-i-verse. It seemed to work with my fragile reading mojo. So, here's the rest of the books I read since August's Read-A-Thon. I carried on with SM Reine's werewolf series with ; 29) Long Night Moon 30) Gray Moon Rising I then moved onto the Cain Chronicles that extend the stories; 31) New Moon Summer 32) Blood Moon Harvest 33) Moon of The Terrible 34) Red Rose Moon 35) Dark Moon 36) Of Wings & Wolves 37) Alpha Moon They are all fairly short reads, but action packed and compelling. I enjoyed them enormously as they kept my mojo ticking over nicely. I then moved onto another series, the preposterous yet incredibly readable 'Betrayed' series by Carolyn McCray. The central premise of each book remains the same; A long lost secret relating to a religious text, a secret society sworn to protect the secret, and a small team made up of a feisty intelligent female and a crack special ops team. The Crucifixion, the Ten Commandments, the Madonna - they all appear in the series, alongside 'visits' to world sites that often end in destruction. The novella / novel combination was made up of 38) 30 Pieces Of Silver 39) Ambush 40) Targeted 41) Covert 42) Havoc 43) Shiva 44) Mayhem All action, all nonsense. You have to not only suspend you belief, you have to wrap it up and hang it from a lamppost. But they remain readable daftness. The SM Reine books, and these Carolyn McCray books were all very cheap kindle sets, so I gave them a chance, and I am glad I did.
