  1. Can you say a little more about it Montmorency? It's something to do with University Challenge isn't it?
  2. I always had a thing for Assisitant Director Walter Skinner played by the actor Mitch Pileggi. He had that rippling muscle hidden by suits look. *sigh*
  3. TLN, when is your interview?
  4. I love Winnie The Pooh! I gave my copies away to visiting family ~ I must replace them. You'll have to take a trip to Pooh Bridge on the Ashdown, and play Pooh Sticks Kate.
  5. I haven't Beth (hello, by the way!), but I'm sure I have this on a shelf somewhere. I will now have to rummage to be sure...........
  6. If I tell you that I looked at a stack of books on the sofa and thought "I really should pop these onto the shelves." but didn't, does that still count as book activity?
  7. Hello Jed. I have no experience dealing with old books, but I put 'Old Books' into google, and it came up with a few areas that may be of help.
  8. Homemade salmon fishcakes with vegetables.
  9. It's not a terribly old thread, so most of the members should still be a'lurking about.
  10. Hi TLN!, I found this old thread that may help. For myself I love books because through them I can be anyone, at any time, in any place. They teach me, comfort me, inspire me, amuse me and stretch me intellectually. Through reading I am smarter, calmer, nicer and quieter.
  11. They are made of thick rubber, so you may be OK.
  12. I remember this book! I loved this many years ago. I must dig it out for a re read.
  13. I have! I started using one last year as part of an 8 week physio course run at my local hospital. Just sitting on them helps to strengthen your core muscles, but we did gentle but effective exercises with them too. I still use mine at times, as it helps to keep my back 'healthy'.
  14. It's already on my wishlist because of Sue's review. They do look like an interesting read.
  15. I'm going to be keeping an eye on you.....with these incarnations you never can tell what may still be lurking.
  16. This thread here would be a good one to look in, as it offers both suggestions, and links to other threads. Go be spooked!
  17. Well done! Did you enjoy it? It doesn't matter what you read, or how quickly you read it ~ what matters is that you read! That's the thing we all have in common on here. Me? I can read super fast sometimes, but if my reading mojo goes wandering off I won't read for ages (it was close to 3 months when it last happened).
  18. I looked it up Maureen, was it the Achmat Dangor or Brian Keaney 'Bitter Fruit' that you read? Both look pretty good, although very different.
  19. Can you account for your movements on November 22nd 1963? I'm fairly sure that a grassy knoll came up in events that took place in Dallas that day!
  20. Books are books! Mention them away!
  21. Abso-blooming-lutely!
  22. It's not that uncommon for family members who have been apart from their early years to have sexual feelings for each other, it's a mixed up emotional message kind of thing, but this is too much. You cannot help how you feel, but you can help what you do about it, and Granny here should be doing what's right for her grandson, and not allowing this to happen.
  23. An Alpen light bar, with berries. Very nice, and a good filler if I don't fancy lunch.
