  1. There's always one isn't there? Must you lower the tone? There has been no book reading today, although I have rummaged through a rail magazine, a local magazine, and bits my Dad insisted on showing me from his paper!
  2. I think you should whip it out, tablecloth/set table style.
  3. My fingers are crossed for you Madcow. You won't know what to do with yourself migraine free! How wonderful would that be?
  4. I've got the ghost whisperer on speed dial!
  5. Smell it! I make my 'should I or shouldn't I' food decisions based on smell ~ although I do have a freakishly good sense of smell most of the time!
  6. Could it be related to this series of books?
  7. Chicken with new potatoes and veggies.
  8. This spinal health site looked pretty good, but be warned ~ I glanced at it, I didn't give it long!
  9. Sorry you didn't get the job, but thanks for getting us all thinking about why we love our books!
  10. I've ordered Assam for me as I love a nice strong flavoured cuppa, and I other one I chose for my Mum, Lady Grey. Thanks for the link Lucybird!
  11. The Tiffany Aching series gets better and better as you go on. I loved the next one, 'A Hat Full Of Sky', and still rave about 'Wintersmith'. The next installment is due out this year ~ I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I really really enjoyed 'The Big Over Easy', but 'The Fourth Bear' was fab. I hope you enjoy it Coffin Nail. I'm a crime girl usually too.
  12. Cod in a butter sauce with steamed carrots, cauliflour and beans.
  13. This has got to be the best first line EVER!
  14. Celery stick and a babybel light cheese.
  15. I like that Kate! I may just copy that one down!
  16. Chicken noodle soup.
  17. That's what I have found Kenny. This is from Publisher's Weekly but posted on the Amazon.com website, Bizarrely, this page on the Amazon.co.uk website for the audible copy has the synopsis given in your first post here as it's synopsis, BUT if you look at the review written by a Julia Flyte, she is clearly talking about 'the other' story!
  18. The only thing I could find for Dutch Science Fiction writers was here on Wiki. I'm intrigued by this book now, and it sounds like something a friend of mine would love, so I better hope that it is found, and that it can be found in translation!
  19. Did you play Pooh Sticks at Pooh Bridge Roland? That is always worth doing. I forgot to note here yesterday that I had bought a few books... AA Drivers Atlas (for OH) Mini Guide of Britain Collection (10 mini guides, each covering a different area of the country) Val McDermid's 'Crack Down' and 'Report For Murder', Jeffrey Deaver's 'Death Of A Blue Movie Star', an Tess Gerritsen's 'Call After Midnight'. I have not read any Tess Gerritsen, so I am looking forward to finding out what her writing is like.
  20. I have not heard of this at all Mad Hatter and to be honest, it sounds a grim read.
  21. I'm so glad to hear that pontalba, sounds just what I need.
  22. I have been trying too hard to get into a book I have to read so I can send it on to my brother. It's not happening, so I have decided to dive in elsewhere with 'The Last Child' by John Hart. It looks just the type of taut chiller that I need to keep my mind engaged.
  23. A woman after my own heart. I love the peanut butter and banana combination.
