  1. What is the secret? The Secret is a now famous movie, based on the book by Rhonda Byrne You can watch the first 20 minutes here on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b1GK...elated&search= The secret you will find is used by all the great people in History, and certainly every one of us on this forum too OPRAH WINFREY talks about the Secret :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0wYxh-akZs The Law of Attraction can be summed up in three words: THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS Thoughts DO become things, the good ones and the bad ones, or more specificaly the ones we focus our attention on the most. So if someone thinks 'I want a brand new Mercedes, I can really see myself sitting in it, I can feel the steering wheel, I can smell the leather', but they also have a deep belief of 'hey come on, these kind of things are never going to happen to me', then they will be proved right, because that's attraction. The secret revealed in the movie 'The Secret' is The Law Of Attraction. The Law Of Attraction is a universal law just like The Law Of Gravity, it works. We all have goals, we all have a vision of where we are going. We all also have deep seated beliefs, some which may conflict with our goals. We must be aware of our beliefs and challenge any that are holding us back. It's easy, just examine the excuses we make to ourselves, such as, 'only brown nosers get promotion', 'self help books are rubbish', 'that girl/guy will never go for me because _ _ _ _(fill in the blank).
  2. A font that's easy on the eye in large bold black letters printed on white paper. Well as this doesn't describe the current book I'm reading, I use a magnifying glass but having lost the one I had I've been looking around for another. I finaly found this yesterday,
  3. I work with a constant supply of agency workers (mainly students) from overseas, who come for about 6 months. They usualy bring a few books with them (as well as their english phrase books etc). Most agree on how more convenient it would be if they had an eReader with 100 or so books stored on it.
  4. I've tried this 3 times now. The first 2 times it just didn't work, then I realised I put 4 x cocoa instead of 2, so the 3rd attempt was perfect , and the kids loved it, cheers.
  5. A rich one. Just a bit of fun before anyone takes that comment too serious. Really Addrienne Burgess for her appreciation of men.
  6. this has to be a record, even for the British press, for the fastest anyone has been built up then knocked down.
  7. Allough predictability doesn't spoil it for me, I do prefer a 'good' twist or two. I also agree that there can be a set pattern/rules to good story telling, some things work and some don't. One thing that DOES put me off though is hype. Everyone told me to read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, then every tv channel was making programs about it, good publicity but I don't want to feel like I HAVE TO read it, so haven't yet .
  8. Your reply was great Bookjumper, yes I do think it is sometimes necessary to 'put some people in their place', like in the movie Uncle Buck when he confronts the headmistress, love that bit. However with the benefit of hindsight do you think you would reply in the same way, differently, or not at all? I once got into an argument on a forum, since then I don't waste my time replying, but admit it is sometimes difficult not to take a remark personaly.
  9. Wow, very unexpected and very nice, thanks :):):)

  10. I agree, we've all had days when we've hit the publish button and wish we hadn't lol.

    Your sports

The main difference, Kung Fu is Chinese, and Karate is Japanese. Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee mainly use Kung fu. Chuck Norris and Jean-claude Van-damme mainly use Karate, that's the explanation I usualy give anyway, but occaisionaly someone will ask me about my black belt in Karate, I just nod my head in agreement, even though it's in Kung Fu. I like to do a bit of road running too, keeps me fit and the only person I'm really competing with is myself.

The one time of year everyone has a bet. So have you picked the winner? I've narrowed it down to five, 50p each way bets. 1. Battlecry 2. Butlers Cabin 3. Kilbeggan Blade 4. Rambling Minster 5. L'Ami
  15. I think I am reading the book I'm currently reading because the timing is right,(it's over 10 years since I first decided I HAD to read it), and because I've read certain other books by different authors that kind of prepared me for this one. Yes timing is a big factor.
  16. I think Sir Alan got rid of the wrong one. He probably thought keeping the other two in would make good tv, seeing as they now seem to have a score to settle.
  17. That reminds me of new years eve, my last post was about 4AM on the 1st of Jan. You'll find you're in good company here Binary_Digit, welcome to the forum.
  18. Haha no not revenge just money.

  19. Hiya, I'm great thanks. You sent that message 90 minutes ago but i only just noticed, I think it should light up or something to get our attention. I see you're reading The Secret Shopper's Revenge, is it any good? I actualy signed up to be a secret shopper a couple of months ago but haven't done any secret shops yet.

  20. I always read the introduction. To me it's like sitting down to watch a big football match or boxing fight on tv. I like the build up, I like to listen to the experts opinions at the start. The introduction is part of the book. If it's a good book then like a fine meal you should savour every mouthfull, taste every herb and spice, not rush through it.

  23. Just discovered Google Book Search today by coincidence. Another good one is Google Scholar. Just go to www.google.com then click on the More link at the top and choose Scholar from the list.
  24. Here's one from the 80s called 'Voyage Voyage' .
  25. Go to the self help section, it's surprising what you can find there.
