  1. Read more of The White Queen by Philippa Gregory. Enjoying it so far!

Also, went book shopping today to spend my birthday giftcards and bought: Mystic River by Dennis Lehane, Still Alice by Lisa Genova, Some Great Thing by Lawrence Hill and Teach Yourself Complete German book + cds kit. Now I'm looking for a good french book to brush up on my french :)

  2. Hey! Not sure if I placed this in the right section, feel free to move it to the correct one. Anywho,

Now that I'm done school I have a ton of free time (when work permits it) and I thought it would be a good idea to spend that free time learning a new language (and brushing up on an old one). I'm looking for good self-taught books for this. I want to brush up on my french (which I've almost completely lost after not using it for many years) and I'm looking to learn German as my third language. Any book suggestions? Are the Dummies books any good? I was told to check out the "Teach Yourself" line of books. Any help is greatly appreciated :D Thanks!

  3. Oh! I loved this book Whitegold :D A bit odd, but really interesting. I loved all the old movie trivia he threw in too.

Unfortunately, I've given up on American Psycho and have filed it away for another day. I wasn't a fan of the over descriptive narration which I think is probably one of the quirks of the book.

Same here! The trivia was fascinating!

I have American Psycho on my TBR pile. I hope all the descriptive narrative isn't too overwhelming. It worked well in the movie though. Have you seen it? Great movie! :D

  4. FINALLY finished Eat Pray Love. It only took me a whole month. Damn reading mojo withered and this book didn't quite help. It was overall a good read but I found the India section kind of dragged on. Maybe its my lack of interest in ashrams and meditating? but I found it kind of boring and hard to get through. Otherwise, I loved the Italy and Indonesia sections! Made me really want to travel..and soon! Now I must figure out my next book to read. This is going to be a tough choice!

  5. I don't really have a gap between books, while nearing the end of one book I try to figure out what to read next. However, sometimes trying to pick the next book turns out to be harder than I'd like it. When that happens, the gap between books is usually a day or two.

  6. This is probably my favourite book of all time Whitegold. I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I'm not sure what my favourite short story is though....probably Mr Whittakers. It had the surprise factor!

I recommended it to a friend recently and he recommended American Psycho to me (which is his favourite book) so that's what I'm reading now. He's enjoying Haunted :D

It was absolutely amazing! I love Palahniuks style. He is definitely my favorite author!

Ooh let me know how American Psycho is! I have it on my TBR pile. The movie is awesome! Definitely one of my top faves :D
