Amazon currently have a Kindle sale on first novels, as in first novels in a series.

The Truman Show is one of Carrey's best films, and the soundtrack by Philip Glass is excellent. Captain America: Civil War (For a second showing). Marvel's best film to date bar none, great stuff!

At least the Kindle and print version release dates agree with each other now (20th October). This is the second time this has been pushed back, it was originally due out last year. I wonder why there is a delay?

I really enjoyed it for the most part, but felt that the end was a little weak. Spoiler free review here. I suspect you might enjoy it.

I checked this again this morning and it is now listing as June 2nd on Kindle, June 16th for the large format paperback and December 1st for the mass market paperback. I'll have to check the e-mail I received last night as I'm sure it said available now...

In a surprise move (well, for me, anyway), Stiletto, book 2 of The Checquy Files by Daniel O'Malley (and sequel to The Rook) is now available as a Kindle download from Amazon.

Edge is trying to be the browser that does things [Microsoft] right, whilst ignoring how everyone else does things, consequently a lot of web pages (including this forum) don't display correctly. I've set my preference for IE on Windows 10 at work, but that seems to be having occasional problems now as well. Hey-ho.

Personally, I'd say both of these characters are already pretty well defended because both books in question explain the extenuating circumstances for why these characters behaved as they did.

Aggressively forcing users to update is just plain wrong; it should always be the user's choice what they do with the their computer. I'm surprised this isn't getting them into trouble from a legal POV.

By coincidence, my PC at work is going to be upgraded to Windows 10 tomorrow. I have used it to test software in the past, and found it far better to use than 8/8.1, but how well this goes will determine whether I upgrade at home as well.

They want everyone on the same, supportable OS - they don't want the same situation they had with XP where people were still using it 10 years after it was released.

There is no guarantee that will stop it installing; Windows will quite often install updates on shut down even if set to ask your permission first. I have turned the automatic updates on my PC off altogether and go through the list of updates and remove the Windows 10 one every time I run updates manually. Look for update KB 3035583; this is the one that will start the upgrade and is now listing as an Important Update. If already installed, this can be removed from your computer using add/remove programs (you will need to check the box to list Windows updates as well).

The Kindle edition is now listing as 20th October!
