  1. I`ve been watching and enjoying this. I`m looking forward to seeing what happens next week (think it`s the last one?) who`s going to be with who?
  2. I read it quite a while ago, I`m sure you won`t be disappointed.
  3. Strange titles maybe, but the content is very good and highly recommended.
  4. Hello Natty and welcome.
  5. I love Alex and Milo, I`ll have to pick this one up. I`ll look forward to hearing what you think.
  6. I`d always thought I was the only one who thought that about her! It`s such a relief knowing there`s someone else out there who felt the same.
  7. I think it`s worth watching if you can, they had to name a breakfast cereal, design the packet, develop a character and make an advert, it was quite amusing at times.
  8. Oh I hope not! There`s something about him I don`t like.
  9. I agree Mia, Phillip really dismissed Lorraines idea out of hand, and treated her like she was a bit of dirt. He thinks he`s so good, I can`t imagine anybody ever respecting him. I can`t imagine Phillip or Lorraine being there at the end either.
  10. I hope you`re enjoying The Coffin Dancer (I`m sure you must be!) thanks for the invite to join you, but at the moment I`m trying to catch up with the Dexter fan club!
  11. I`m glad you said the re-read didn`t spoil the story for you. Like you it`s been a long time since I read The Coffin Dancer, and I really can`t remember it that well either, I might consider a re-read myself now!
  12. Hello Dan
  13. I`m the same as far as the murders go! but this did make a pleasant change, it`s a quick and easy read and only weepy for a very few pages, (honest!)
  14. The Pearl ~ John Steinbeck The Pearl is an old Mexican folk story recounted by Steinbeck, about a poor fisherman Kino, his wife Juana and their baby Coyotito. They have nothing, apart from the hut they live in and a canoe passed down from Kino`s grandfather, which he uses to fish and look for pearls. Despite their poverty they are happy, they have all they need. One day Kino finds a pearl, large and perfect and he dreams of what this means for him and his family, new clothes, marriage and schooling for his son..... The Pearl is a short story, parable even, that tells how money can change people, and I`m sure everyone who reads it will read different things into the story. I enjoyed this novel, it was easy reading but thought provoking too. I`d forgotten how much I like Steinbeck`s style of writing and must read/re-read more of his books. 10/10
  15. Things I Want My Daughters to Know ~ Elizabeth Noble How would you say goodbye to those you love most in the world? Barbara must say a final farewell to her four daughters. But how can she find the words? And how can she leave them when they each have so much growing up to do?.......... Barbara`s answer is to write each daughter a letter, finally expressing the hopes, fears, dreams and secrets she couldn`t always voice. These words will touch the girls in different - sometimes shocking - ways, unlocking emotions and passions to set them on their journey of discovery through life. My Thoughts This book was an easy read, quite emotional at times, particularly the first few pages and the last few pages too. The characters were all likeable, I couldn`t help but care what happened to them, and I was keen to find out, so it was hard at times to put the book down. I did find myself wondering what I`d have done in Barbara`s situation, I haven`t got four daughters, but I do have two sons and one daughter, and as a mum I constantly worry about them, even when there`s nothing to worry about! I enjoyed this book, it wasn`t one I`d have normally read, but I`d read good reports on here, so I decided to give it a go, I`m glad that I did. 8.5/10
  16. We also have cd`s, dvd`s, newspapers and magazines on offer. There are puzzles and games in the children`s area, to help keep the little ones amused when they`ve finished looking at the books. Homework club, where youngsters can get help and support researching and working on topics and general school work. There are computers with internet access for a small charge, and help for those who need it. There are even weekly sessions for babies and toddlers with Baby Boogie, (action songs and story telling) The library has most definately changed!
  17. Hello Maggie

  20. It`s good to hear you`re enjoying Jeffery Deavers books, I think the Lincoln Rhymes stories are particularly good.
